The film was made by Bombay Talkies,Bombay. It was directed by a German – Franz Osten. The music was composed by Saraswati Devi for the songs written by J.S.Casshyap. The cast included Renuka Devi (Begum Khursheed Mirza), P.Jairaj, Meera (Muriel Alexander), Maya Devi, Peethawala, V.H.Desai, Rama Shukul, Lalita Deulkar (later, wife of Sudhir phadke, MD) and many others.

Today’s song is from the film Bhabhi-1938.
When the film ‘Bhabhi’ is mentioned, we first remember the 1957 AVM film Bhabhi, which had very good songs like ” Chal ud jaa re panchhi” in 3 parts or “Chali chali re patang meri chali” etc. This was a very successful and a popular film – a truly ‘Family Picture’, in those days. There were 3 movies with the same title ‘Bhabhi’ released in 1938, 1957 and 1991.

Today’s song is from the 86 year old film Bhabhi-1938.
Writing with fervour and emotions on old films is like being a doctor with a very odd and unknown speciality, e.g. Medical geneticist, which is a very rare type of speciality. In the entire USA there are less than a thousand such specialists. Another odd speciality is Aviation Medicine. In the USA, there are hardly 500 such specialists. For a common man these specialities are a waste of time and these are not big income earners. Nowadays, everything is measured in terms of earning money. Liking and choice have no value. I am sure, in India specialists of the above two categories may not have marriageable values even !
