Today’s song is from an obscure and less known Costume film- Captain Kirti kumar-1937.
The year 1937 was a year of Revolution for the newly started Talkie Film. Initially the films were mainly based on Folk tales, Parsi dramas and Mythological stories. 1937 was a year in which the Film industry was trying to drop its old skin and don a New Avtar. From this year, a variety of subjects were used to make films. If we briefly look at some path breaking, landmark films using Novel themes, we will understand how the film industry was attempting to change itself.

Do you ever wonder, what happens to child stars when they grow up or what must be adult actors doing when they stop getting roles or get retired ? In the early years of films, anyone looking good and was a tolerably good singer could become actor or an actress. Education was not necessary. Working in films was not considered good those days. So, those who joined film line, in their early years, had no other skill or education. The payments were dismal, there was no guarantee of continuation and temptations were too many.
