Temporarily moving away from my series on Kamsune/Ansune Songs of Asha Bhosle, I present a very beautiful song from my teenage years –
“Yeh Kaisa Nasha Hai” sung by Shailendra Singh, written by D S Sultania and composed by Chand Pardesi from Yeh Kaisa Nasha Hai (1981).
With this post, Yeh Kaisa Nasha Hai makes its debut on the blog.

‘Khufiya Mahal’ (1964) was produced and directed by Akkoo under the banner of Amar Films. The cast included Jairaj, Chitra, Mohan Sheri, Shaikh, Tuntun, Paul Sharma, Jilani, King Kong, Goldstein etc. Azad, Sundar and Indira Bansal made guest appearances in the film. The credit title also includes other ‘wonders’ such as ‘Flying Horse’, Gorilla’, Apeman, ‘Jin’ and a flying ‘palace’. Surely, the film belonged to ‘fantasy’ genre.

Mukesh and his Composers – 30
Mukesh,
• A name that will remain etched in active memory of HFM lovers.
• A voice that will continue to enthrall the inner souls.
• A legend whose immortality will last for several generations to come.
Remembering a noble soul who passed away on this day 27 August 1976, in Detroit city of America. And, even though he departed nearly half a century ago, this year has been unique as his birth centenary was celebrated on 22 July.
Hon. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi also tweeted.

While doing preparatory work for the article on the film ‘Dahek’ (1999), I came across a few names of the films where the lovers commit suicide/or get killed as their parents/society were against their relationship. One of such films was ‘Ek Baar Chale Aao’ (1983), about which I was not aware of. Probably, the film may have received a lukewarm response from the cinema audience. The film had Farooque Shaikh and Deepti Naval in the lead roles. I have watched them in ‘Chasme Baddoor’ (1981), ‘Saath Saath’ (1982) and ‘Katha’ (1983). They had also worked together in films like’ Rang-Birangi’ (1983), ‘Kisi Se Na Kahna’ (1983) etc. With these films, they had become one of the popular lead pairs in Hindi films in the 1980s. Then, how is that the film under discussion was almost forgotten? I got the answer by watching the film.

If one thinks that posting “blog century” songs is quite a straight forward matter then think again. Though we have posted as many as 142 blog century posts, hardly any of them were easy picks. I had to think hard and long before finding songs befitting the occasion.
As the number of centuries mounted, we began to combine those blog centuries with other special occasions, viz. artist century, contributor century, artist anniversaries etc.
The post under discussion marks the 143rd century for the blog. In other words, it is the song post number 14300 for the blog.
