I am aware of a movie called “Sohni Mahiwal” (1958). It turns out that there was another movie of the same title which was released in 1946.
“Sohni Mahiwal” (1946) was directed by Ishwarlal and Raveendra Jaikar for Jayant Desai Productions, Bombay. The movie had Ishwarlal, Begam Para, Mubarak, Dixit, Revashankar, Saeed Ahmad, Dharpure, Bibi Bai, Shobha, Nafisa Begam, Kesarbai etc in it.

Today’s song is from an obscure mythological film Veer Arjun-1952. It is sung by G M Durrani. It is a Bhajan. Durrani has hardly sung any bhajans in his career,so in a way,this is a rare song. Moreover the bhajan starts with Sanskrit shlokas, which Durrani has sung with surprising ease and clarity. He must have really taken lot of efforts to do this.

I was aware of “Lalkaar” (1956) and “Lalkaar”(1972). It turns out that a movie with the same title was released in 1944 as well.
“Lalkaar” (1944) was produced and directed by Jayant Desai. The movie had Ramola, Ishwarlal, Mubarak, Maya Bannerji etc in it.
