In 1944 Naushad had introduced folk music based tunes to bollywood movies with “Rattan” (1944). One day when S D Burman went to his kitchen, he found his cook singing a song from Rattan (“jab tumhi chale pardes”) with great relish-“jhoom jhoom ke”.

When there are many great songs in a movie, and there are several movies like that, it is easy to lose track of songs that one has posted and that are not yet posted. The first movie of O P Nayyar as a music director was “Aasmaan” (1952). In this movie he had created songs that were diferent from his music of later movies. In this movie , he used the voices of Geeta Dutt, Raj Kumari and C H Atma.
