Before coming to the song, I would like to talk about the film itself. I remember going to see it at Chandragupt Talkies, one of the then popular single screen cinemas of Indore with my brother and enjoying this movie. That cinema is long gone like many other single screens but I still remember the josh of going to that huge cinema hall. Indore which came in the MP circle used to have this unique thing that the cinemas would get displayed on Thursdays (most other circles actually screened the movie the next day on the Friday). There would be huge queues to do advance bookings in those cinemas. Sometimes, we would have to request passing by girls and ladies to stand in the ladies queue to get tickets fast!

In the last 2 decades, I have preferred watching films that interest me on video sharing platforms or on OTT. ‘Talaash’ (2012) was one of few films I have watched in a multiplex upon its release after reading the ‘very good’ reviews of the film. And I was not disappointed. The film was a slow gainer on the box office front. Eventually, the film became a ‘semi hit’. Recently, I watched the film on OTT platform to recapitulate its story which I now feel is a complex one.

I hope to bring in a party mood with today’s post. We are celebrating something very important. We are wishing our leader good health, good times, good infrastructure in the form of uninterrupted power supply and good broadband facilities. Today (16 august) is the birthday of Saif Ali Khan, known to younger generation as a Hindi movie actor but to my generation , he is the son of Former Indian test cricket captain Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi and Sharmila Tagore, the heartthrob of millions. The parents of Saif Ali Khan were married just after the Chrishtmas of december 1969 and Chhote Nawab was born on 16 august 1970 :).

Dekho aayi Holi
