While looking for forgotten gems, look what I have discovered. This Rafi song is from a forgotten movie called “Do Khilaadi” (1976). Gauhar Kanupri is the lyricist and Usha Khanna has composed the music.

“Shabnam” (1964) was a movie in while Mehmood played the hero. Many comediens of those days aspired to be heroes in B grade movies. But none of them suceeded.

Ajnabi kaun ho tum

“Sweekar Kiya maine” (1983) is a movie that few people remember today. it was a small budget movie with Vinod Mehra and Shabana Azmi in lead roles. This was a good off beat movie, I am sure which the mainstream audience the kinds which the mainstream audience tended to avoid watching.

I had once wondered what I would do if I run out of all Rafi-Shammi songs. Then I realised that I need not worry. In case I have no more Rafi-Shammi songs to listen to, I always had the option of listening to the songs picturised on Shammi Kapoor clones. And these songs sounded just as good. There was Joy Mukherjee ( similar in appearance to Shammi Kapoor ans sometimes nearly as good) and there was also Vishwajeet ( smaller built and therefore described as poor man’s Shammi Kapoor).

This is a very popular “betrayal” song. In fact, I am amazed that I did not think of this category before. This is a category of song where one person feels betrayed and sings a song expressing his hurt.
