But all that effect is lost when one watches the picturisation, since the picturisation shows lack of imagination as well as lack of ability on the part of the movie makers. As a result, the movie, as well as the song is consigned to the dustbin of history.

When we watch old Bollywood movies , we tend to have stereotypical images of certain characters of these movies. For example, we tend to think that villains and dancers were supposed to have no lives and no feelings unlike the heroes and heroines of the movies.

While looking for forgotten gems, look what I have discovered. This Rafi song is from a forgotten movie called “Do Khilaadi” (1976). Gauhar Kanupri is the lyricist and Usha Khanna has composed the music.

“Shabnam” (1964) was a movie in while Mehmood played the hero. Many comediens of those days aspired to be heroes in B grade movies. But none of them suceeded.

“Sweekar Kiya maine” (1983) is a movie that few people remember today. it was a small budget movie with Vinod Mehra and Shabana Azmi in lead roles. This was a good off beat movie, I am sure which the mainstream audience the kinds which the mainstream audience tended to avoid watching.
