on:Here is a song from a forgotten movie called “Kal Hamara Hai” (1959). This song is sung by Rafi and picturised on Bharat Bhooshan.
This is a car song, where Bharat Bhooshan is sing driving a car and singing this song. Shailendra wrote this song and the music director was some person called Gajanan. I have heard this name for the first time.
The song itslf sound like a nice song which has been forgotten with the passage of time. Listening to this song for the first time today, half a century after this song was first recorded. I must say I liked the song. And I am sure there are many people who will love listening to this song.
Song-Ye sachh hai ai jahaan waalon (Kal hamara hai ) (1959) Singer-Rafi , Lyrics-Shailendra, MD- Gajanan
Lyrics
ye sach hai ai jahaan waalon hamen jeenaa nahin aayaa
ye sach hai ai jahaan waalon hamen jeenaa nahin aayaa
mare sau baar jeete ji magar marnaa nahin aayaa
ye sach hai ai jahaan waalon
badi aasaan thin raahen na manzil hi koyi mushkil
badi aasaan thin raahen na manzil hi koyi mushkil
magar aasaan raahon par hamen chalnaa nahin aayaa
hamen chalnaa nahin aayaa
ye sach hai ai jahaan waalon hamen jeenaa nahin aayaa
ye sach hai ai jahaan waalon
sisakti raat ke saayon mein jab kho jaayenge ham bhi
sisakti raat ke saayon mein jab kho jaayenge ham bhi
shamaa jal-jal ke poochhegi wo parwaanaa nahin aayaa
wo parwaanaa nahin aayaa
ye sach hai ai jahaan waalon hamen jeenaa nahin aayaa
ye sach hai ai jahaan waalon

The music director for this song ( as well as one more song from this film) was Gajanan Karnad (1923 -1995) who was a Violinist in Hindustani classical music. He was the disciple of Pandit Gajananbuwa Joshi.
Gajanan Karnad also played song violin for some of the music directors. One can hear his violin piece in the song ‘Saiyyan jhoothon ka bada sartaj nikla’ from ‘Do Annkhen Baarah Haath’ (1957).
‘Kal Hamaara Hai’ (1959) was the only Hindi film for which Gajanan Karnad composed music and that too for two songs.
