Chaahoonga main tujhe saanjh sawere

“Dosti” (1964) was a Rajshri production movie that had an idealistic and moralistic storyline. But the movie is today known for its music. Just about every song ( most of them Rafi solos) went on to become immortal songs. It is difficult to pick the best of them, and I advise that one should avoid the temptation to rank them, and instead one should just enjoy listening to them.
Ofcourse Filmfare awards do not work that way. They picked Rafi as the best male playbak singer of 1965 for the song “Chaahunga main tujhe saanjh sawere”.And this song finished number 2 in Binaca geetmala finals of 1965.

The storyline is different and I had liked it when I first watched this movie ( in 1980). Of course, people these days are no longer that idealist or patient to like such movies.

list dosti songs is incomplete without -Dost dost na raha film Sangam.Phulon se dosti hai katon se yaree hai aise maje ke pyare zindgi hamari hai-film Duniya jhukti hai-a sunil dutt movie.

Few days ago I had the privilage to see movie on DVD.
What a fantastic movie with very strong storyline, and all the songs are the lifeline of of thismovie.
All the songs in this movie are sung by Rafi-all solos, except one song of Lata.
I have query for yoy Atut,can you point out some films which has all Rafi songs, whether solos or duets.

All songs Rafi film , immediately comes to mind is :
Sargam(1979)
Seven songs : 4 Rafi solos and 3 Rafi-Lata duets.
Just like Dosti, ” Laila Manu” would have all but one song of Rafi.

Rafi had such a sweet voice. I liked this movie as well, would prefer to watch it anyday over most of today’s movies.
