“Haqeeqat” (1964) was not just a good movie on a different subject, it was a musical blockbuster too.
Quite a few songs from this movie have gone on to become evergreen iconic songs.Even those songs that did not attain that status are also very good songs to listen to.
Take this song “kahin ye wo to nahin” for example. It is a beautiful song, with beautiful lyrics and sung with feeling by Lata. I think this song is as good as any Lata-Madan Mohan composition. “Haqeeqat” had some remarkable songs which overshadowed other songs of the movie such as this one.I think this song would have received more accolades had it been part of some other movie.
Judged with an open mind, this is an outstanding song in its own right.

Just love the songs from this movie…all of them, even hoke majboor…which always makes me fell sad sad sad….
