Jeetendra, who can be said to have taken over from Shammi Kapoor when it came to roles that called for vigorous dancing, was nicknamed Jumping Jack. I have no idea which movie earned him that sobriquet. My suspicion is that it was the movie “Farz”. And just how vigoorously could he dance ? I think this song from “Jigri Dost” gives us some idea.

Madan Mohan made his debut as a music director in “Ankhen” in 1950. What is this with Madan Mohan and the names of his movies ? By now we have had three more movies with the same name, released in 1960s, 1990s as well as in the decade of 2000.

When Shammi Kapoor began his bull run as a hero, Shankar Jaikshan was the music director for his movies, but when he ended his bull run,Shankar jaikishan was replaced by R D Burman ( in Teesri Manzil).

I have listened to this song for the first time only now. And this song is from a 1964 movie called Shabnam. The music director is Usha Khanna, but the lyricist is an unknown person for me called Jawed Anwar.
