Here is a very rare and a very special song. This song is from a forgotten movie called “Hamaari Shaan” (1951).
What is special in this song ? This song is a light hearted song sung by Talat Mahmood who is not known for singing light hearted song. This song also has the voice of Kishore Kumar. Kishore Kumar and Talat Mehmood singing together, and that too a light hearted song- it cannot get any more rare than that. This must be the first time the two ever came together to sing a song. And I am no aware if they sang any more songs together. Perhaps some of the readers of this blog may know of more such songs.
This song has at least one more distinct voice, thouh I am not sure whose voice it could be. There were two lyricists in this movie, viz Anjum Jaipuri and Saraswati Kumar Deepak, and it is not clear who wrote this fun song. Chitragupta is the music director.
This movie had Bharat Bhooshan, Durga Khote, Yakub, Agha, S N tripathi, David, Yashodhara Katju etc in this movie. I am not sure if any video of this movie exists, and so we may never know who were the actors on which this song was picturised. But there is no doubt that this song is a rare gem, and a must listen song for all the fans of Bollywood movie music.
Ed note:- The third voice in the song is that of G M Durrani.
