Among lesser known music directors, S Mohinder will always occupy a pride of place. He did not get too many opportunities to show his ability, but he made the most of whatever little opportunities he got as a music director.

“Miss Mary” (1957) is a movie that I like a lot. It has Gemini Ganeshan (Rekha’s father), Meena Kumari, Kishore Kumar etc in lead roles and it is a nice, heartwarming movie.

Bollywood romantic songs are reputed to be sung while running around trees. But how do the hero and heroine reach there in the first place ? In case they are rich, they have a car to reach there, but there is nothing romantic in that. It is far more romantic when the hero is driving a motor bike and the lady seated behind is clinging on to him with her arms strategically placed on hero’s body.
