Ek baat kahoon mere piyaa

on:I have come to to the realisation by now that most old Bollywood movies were musical blockbusters by default. It meant that each of these movies had several nice songs contained in them.
Take this movie “Amar” (1954) for example. This movie had Dilip Kumar and Madhubala in lead roles. I have posted three songs from this movie and here I find another lovely song from this movie.
This song is sung by Asha Bhosle (earlier songs posted by me were sung by Lata) and it is picturised on Nimmi. She performs a dance for a gathering where Dilip Kumar and Madhubala (and Mukri) are the guests of honour.
It is a really nicely sung song, and Asha Bhonsle gave the audiences a nice demonstration of the quality of her singing voice. Shakeel Badayuni wrote the song and Naushad composed the music.
Song-Ek baat kahoon mere piyaa (Amar) (1954) Singer-Asha Bhonsle, Lyrics-Shakeel Badayuni, MD-Naushad
Lyrics
ek baat kahoon mere piyaa
sun le agar tu
ho piyaa sun le agar tu
ek baat kahoon mere piyaa
sun le agar tu
jab dil mein nahin paap to phir soch naa kar tu
ek baat kahoon
ek baat kahoon mere piyaa
sun le agar tu
ho piyaa sun le agar tu
chhote se mere man mein hai kyaa
kah nahin paaun
main to kah nahin paaun
chhote se mere man mein hai kyaa
kah nahin paaun
kahte huye sharmaaun
bhalaa kaise bataaun
main kaise bataaun
ho ho o o
sab kuchh hai in aankhon mein
zaraa dekh idhar tu
o piyaa dekh idhar tu
jab dil mein nahin paap to phir soch naa kar tu
ek baat kahoon
ek baat kahoon mere piyaa sun le agar tu
ho piyaa sun le agar tu
do nainon ke panghat pe lage pyaar ke mele
lage pyaar ke mele
do nainon ke panghat pe lage pyaar ke mele
aansoo bhi hai muskaan bhi
jo chaahe so le le
jo chaahe so le le
ho ho o o
saajan bhare baazaar se khaali naa guzar tu
piyaa khaali naa guzar tu
jab dil mein nahin paap to phir soch naa kar tu
ek baat kahoon
ek baat kahoon mere piyaa sun le agar tu
ho piyaa sun le agar tu
