Bachche man ke sachche

Posted on: August 18, 2010

If ordinary folks want to know about their ancestors, they need to locate old albums and see the greyed out photos to see how their parents, grand parents etc looked like in their childhood.

With celebrities, like say the Kapoor Khandaan, it is much easier. Just get hold of an old movie containing your ancestor, and there you are. You can see how a Kapoor Khandaan ancestor looked like.

If Ranbir Kapoor ever wondered how his mom looked like in her childhood, he need not look any further than the movie “Do Kaliyaan” (1968). In fact, if he is too time strapped to watch the entire movie, let him just watch this song being posted here.

This song “bachche man ke sachche” is a song where Ranbir Kapoor’s mom, then barely 5-6 years of age sings this song in her class, much to the approval of the class and the class teacher. The only one unimpressed is another kid with identical looks (she is again Ranbir’s mom). Yes, Ranbir’s mom who those days was known as Baby Soniya (she became known as Neetu Singh when she grew up) plays double role in this movie. In fact, the title of the movie “Do Kaliyaan” is a reference to the two kids who are identical twins separated at a young age and growing up separately and not knowing that they are separated at an young age (what an original story line !)

This song became a runaway iconic song. Like most iconic songs of Bollywood movies, this song was composed by Ravi. Sahir Ludhianvi is the lyricist and Lata sang this song. This was just a few years prior to 1971 when the tradition of kids singing for kids started.

Here is this memorable iconic song from “Do Kaliyaan” (1968).

Song-Bachche man ke sachche (Do Kaliyaan) (1968) Singer-Lata, Lyrics-Sahir Ludhianvi, MD-Ravi

Lyrics

bachche man ke sachche
bachche man ke sachche
saari jag ki aankh ke taare
ye wo nanhe phool hain jo
Bhagwaan ko lagte pyaare
bachche man ke sachche

khud roothen, khud man jaaye,
phir hamjoli ban jaaye
jhagdaa jiske saath karen,
agle hi pal phir baat karen
jhagdaa jiske saath karen,
agle hi pal phir baat karen
inko kisi se bair nahin,
inke liye koi ghair nahin
inkaa bholaapan miltaa hai,
sabko baanh pasaare
bachche man ke sachche
saare jag ki aankh ke taare
ye wo nanhe phool hain jo
Bhagwaan ko lagte pyaare
bachche man ke sachche

insaan jab tak bachchaa hai,
tab tak samjho kachchaa hai
jyun jyun uski umar badhe,
man par jhooth ka mail chadhe
krodh badhe, nafrat ghere,
laalach ki aadat ghere
bachpan in paapon se hatkar
apni umar guzaare
bachche man ke sachche
saari jag ki aankh ke taare
ye wo nanhe phool hain jo
Bhagwaan ko lagte pyaare
bachche man ke sachche

tan komal man sundar hai
bachche badon se behtar hain
inmein chhoot aur chhaat nahin,
jhoothi jaat aur paat nahin
bhaashhaa ki taqraar nahin,
mazhab ki deewaar nahin
inki nazron mein ik hain,
mandir masjid gurudwaare
bachche man ke sachche
saare jag ki aankh ke taare
ye wo nanhe phool hain jo
Bhagwaan ko lagte pyaare
bachche man ke sachche
saare jag ki aankh ke taare
ye wo nanhe phool hain jo
Bhagwaan ko lagte pyaare
bachche man ke sachche
bachche man ke sachche

Love your write-ups. 🙂
LOL at “family album” and “Ranbir Kapoor need not look further than the movie Do Kaliyaan.” 🙂

nice writeup 🙂

Ranbir Kapoor got many choices in movies for family album.

There was “Murga Murgi” song in the movie. I heard that was also quite popular those days. It’s coming in the farmaish.

Ravi and Sahir combination gave many good songs. And, this movie also had some nice song.
