Atul’s Song A Day- A choice collection of Hindi Film & Non-Film Songs

Anokhaa jaadoogar Bhagwaan

Posted on: February 13, 2011

The 1975 blockbuster movie “Sholay” needs no introduction, but few people are aware that a movie of the same name was also made in 1953. This movie “Shole” (1953) had Ashok Kumar ,Beena Rai ,Poornima ,Manmohan Krishna ,Jeewan ,Mirza Musharraf,Baby Naaz etc in it.

Here is a song from this movie which shows a happy family get together around a grand piano and singing this song. Ashok Kumar is seated on the piano and his wife (played by Bina Rai, I guess) standing close and their two young kids also present. They all sing this song which basically praised the God who has created this world and everything in it.

This lovely song, which could be called a piano song, family song, as well as some sort of a bhajan, is sung by Hemant Kumar, Ameerbai Karnataki, Meena Kapoor and Premlata. Saraswati Kumar Deepak is the lyricist. This movie had two music directors viz Dhaniram and Nareshwar Bhattacharji. I have no idea whether they were music director duo or whether each of them composed separate songs.

As for the picturisation, I guess that one of the kids is played by Baby Naaz. I am not aware who plays the other kid. I request my knowledgeable readers to throw lights on the missing informations about this song as well as the movie.

Here is this song, which I heard for the first time only just now. It is a wonderful song to listen to.

Song-Anokha jaadoogar Bhagwaan (Shole) (1953) Singers-Hemant Kumar, Ameerbai Karnataki, Meena Kapoor, Premlata, Lyrics-Saraswati Kumar Deepak, MD-Dhaniram

Lyrics

ho ho ho
ho ho ho ho ho ho
ho ho ho ho ho ho
Jaadoogar Bhagwaan
anokha jaadoogar Bhagwaan
anokha jaadoogar Bhagwaan
phool banaaye
taare banaaye
bana diye insaan
hanskar usne banaa diye hain
hanskar usne banaa diye hain
khushiyon ke saamaan
anokhaa
anokha jaadoogar Bhagwaan

subah banaayi shaam banaayi
subah banaayi shaam banaayi
aur banaayi raat
garmi sardi wahi banaataa
barkhaa ka vardaan
barkhaa ka vardaan
wahi hansaaye
wahi rulaaye
wahi hansaaye
wahi rulaaye
uska har ??
kaath ki beenaa bajaa rahi hai
kaath ki beenaa bajaa rahi hai
uski meethhi taan
anokhaa
anokhaa jaadoogar Bhagwaan
wahi god mein rahe khelta
??? ?? ??
ye hansti aankhon ka daaman
kabhi na karna geelaa
kal kyaa hoga
koi na jaane
koi na jaane
kal kyaa hoga
koi na jaane
tu jaane sab leela
ghumaa rahaa dharti ka golaa
ghumaa rahaa
ghumaa rahaa dharti ka golaa
ghoom rahen naadaan
anokha
anokha jaadoogar Bhagwaan

toone maa ki mamta banaayi
toone maa ki mamta banaayi
aur pitaa ka pyaar
toone inmein jod diye hain
pyaar preet ke taar
pyaar preet ke taar
in taaron mein piro diyaa hai
in taaron mein piro diyaa hai
bhai bahan ka pyaar
isi taar par khadaa huaa hai
isi taar par khadaa huaa hai
maalik tera jahaan
anokha
anokha jaadoogar Bhagwaan

bhoole bhatke insaanon ko
maalik raah dikhaataa
toofaanon ke beech mein ??
chalna wahi sikhaata
he Bhagwaan
kabhi ye baalak
kabhi ye baalak
he Bhagwaan
kabhi ye baalak
bhool na jaayen naataa
bhole baalak har shole se
bhole baalak har shole se
bane rahen anjaan
anokhaa
anokha jaadoogar Bhagwaan

Atul ji,

The second child artist is Master Romi. Romi did a number of films in the 1950s, most notable being the role of child Rattan in the movie Ab Dilli Door Nahin (1957).

As for the music directors, Dhaniram and Naresh Bhattacharya are not a duo. They shared the music composition for this movie. In fact the latter has composed only one song (in two parts) for this movie. The remaining songs are composed by Dhaniram.
