This blog boasts of the largest collection of Sajjad Hussain compositions at one place in the entire interwebs. And I am quite proud of this feat. This blog has as many as 57 Sajjad Hussain compositions, and several of them are rare songs not available elsewhere.
“Tilasmi Duniya” (1946) is a Sajjad Hussain movie from which I have discussed two rare songs. During readers’ comments on this movie, it transpired that three records of this movie (viz six songs) were made. The two songs discussed on this blog were from one record. So it meant that fours songs from other two records were still around that were not yet available on internet.
But where were they ? It is obvious that these songs are not uploaded anywhere on internet. But is there any likelihood that they are available with some collector somewhere ?
It is here that the Sudhir Ji showed his resourcefulness. He actually managed to locate them with an avid record collector acquaintance of him.
Sudhir Ji got the song converted to mp3 and sent it to me. So now, we have yet another Sajjad Hussain song available for us to savour. This song is special, because it was believed that this song was extinct.
I am extremely thankful to Sudhir and his acquaintance for sharing this invaluable musical gem with us.
Listening to this song for the first time, that few people may have heard in the last three generations is an experience of a lifetime.
The song is sung by a female singer. The voice could be the voice of same Sarla Devi who has also sung Durga Mata O sukh daataa (Tilasmi Duniya) . I request our knowledgeable readers to throw more light on the singer. And the lyricist is not known, since his name is apparently not there on the record label. Any idea who the lyricist could be ?
Here is this wonderful song from “Tilasmi Duniya” (1946). Make no mistake. The readers of this blog are the first music lovers in last six decades to listen to this song.

I also appreciate the tenecity of Sudhir ji,who took special efforts to make this and other songs available to you.Thank you Sudhir ji.
This also goes to show how,intense desire and involvement makes things possible.One can only imagine how difficult it is to trace rare records.A real lover of old music alone can understand the value of such songs.
