“Dost” title is like Halley’s comet. Halley’s comet is visible from the earth after every 86 years, and the title “Dost” can be seen after every 10 year, beginning from 1944. Thus we had the sigtings of movies called “Dost” in 1944, 1954, and 1974. In 1964, we got a title called “Dosti” instead of “Dost”.
All these movies had wonderful songs in them, and I have discussed songs from all these movies.
“Dost” (1954) has been the most underrepresented as only two songs from this movie have been discussed. Here is another song from “Dost” (1954). It is a duet which is sung by Talat Mehmood and Madhubala Jhaweri. Asad Bhopali is the lyricist. Music is composed by Hansraj Bahl.
This melancholic song is undoubtedly a rare gem.
