“Chaalis Baba Ek Chor” (1954) is a movie about which every internet site claims to have all the information, but when one visits there, one finds hardly anything of substance. From the little available information, it would seem that Kamini Kaushal was definitely there in this movie. 😀 And then people like Omprakash, Balraj Sahni etc may also have been there in this movie.
I am more certain about the songs of this movie, though. Here is a song from this movie. It is sung by Lata. P L Santoshi is the lyricist. Music is composed by S D Burman. Since only the audio of this song is available, it is difficult to tell how and on whom this song is picturised.
I request our knowledgeable readers to throw more light on this movie, which, considering the musical team involved, should be an A grade movie.
PS-Thanks to the valuable and detailed information provided by Mr Arunkumar Deshmukh, this blog is now perhaps the only place to actually have all the details on this movie. Here I quote what Mr Arunkumar Deshmukh has mentioned in his comments-
CHALIS BABA EK CHOR(1954), a Kamini Art Ltd.film was produced by Kamini Kaushal, Directed by P.L.Santoshi who wrote lyrics and dialogues and joined I.S.Johar for screen play.

She drives taxi as a boy. One day Raj Kumar(Balraj Sahani) a simpleton and rich young man sits in her taxi. They become frinds. When Raj Kumar comes to know that Asha is a girl, they fall in love and want to get married when Vikram kidnaps a boy Munna, form Asha’s house with a condition that Raj Kumar marry his sister.
The film details how the problem is solved and Asha and Raj kumar get united.

Waah, waah, what great and lovely details.
From the story, it looks like this same story was reused in Victoria number 203. It is just that taxi was replaced by a Victoria there.
THanks a lot for such a detailed description o this movie.
