“Naaz” (1954) is a movie produced by S K Films. The director of this movie was S K Ojha. The movie had Ashok Kumar, Nalini Jaywant, Murad, Arif, Tiwari, Veena, Nawab, S. Nazir, Amar, K. Sabir etc in it.
I have little idea about the movie. In fact I have little idea about the songs of this movie as well. Here is the first song from this movie in this blog. This rare song is sung by Lata. Satyendra Athaiyya is the lyricist. Music is composed by Anil Biswas.
It is my guess that this song is picturised on Nalini Jaiwant. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw more light on this movie as well as on its songs.

Jhilmil sitaaron ke tale aa mera daaman thhaam le

main tere dil ki baat hoon
main tere dil ki baat hoon
thharti huyi barsaat hoon
main trere dil ki baat hoon
qadmon pe jiske chaandni
main wo suhaani raat hoon
main wo suhaani raat hoon
ye husn ka paighaam le aa
mera daaman thhaam le
ye husn ka paighaam le aa
mera daaman thhaam le
jhilmil sitaaron ke tale aa
mera daaman thhaam le
pyaasi nigaahon ki qasam
khaamosh aahon ki qasam
pyaasi nigaahon ki qasam
khaamosh aahon ki qasam
main hoon ?? ka intezaar
main hoon ?? ka intezaar
in khwaabgaahon ki qasam
in khwaabgaahon ki qasam
dil ki nazar ke saamne aa
mera daaman thhaam le
dil ki nazar ke saamne aa
mera daaman thhaam le
jhilmil sitaaron ke tale aa
mera daaman thhaam le
jhilmil sitaaron ke tale

Atul ji,
NAAZ(1954),was a S.K.Films’ production and the producer and director was S.K.Oza.This must have been the ultimate budget film of those days as the story, screenplay and dialogues were also by S.K.Oza.
The cast was one of the best of those days, but unfortunately the imagination of Mr.SKOza in the story knew no bounds. The story consisted of
Poor boy meets rich girl,Mistaken identity twist,a shipwreck,Gold smuggling ring, secret revealation from a Harem, desert rescue, death from 450 feet high Pyramid, love, passion jealousy, dancing girls and much more.
It did contain enough stuff for atleast 20 movies ! The story was so twisted that I am sure all the artists must have stopped thinking and the director must have lost the track several times.Whats more, all the shots of shipwreck,Pyramid,Harem, desert etc were shot in the studio sets only and shabbily too.
All in all,it went the way it deserved.
The music by Anilda, however was very good but it too could not save the film.

Thanks a lot for this detailed information. From your description, it is obvious that S K Ojha tried to do too much in one movie and that too without having the required resources.
