Atul’s Song A Day- A choice collection of Hindi Film & Non-Film Songs

Ye saal ki aakhhri raat hai

Posted on: December 31, 2011

There are songs for various occasions, like festivals, and also for certain days, viz the first day of the month, but I was not aware that there was a Hindi movie song for the last day of the year too.

I thank Raja for informing me about this song. This song is from “Beraham”(1980), a movie I honestly had not heard of, even though this movie was released at a time when I was in a movie watching spree and I would watch just about any movie that was released. Perhaps this movie never got released in the place where I was growing up at time time.

The song shows Shatrughan Sinha, Reena Roy and others gather in a church on new years eve and sing this song as the old year comes to an end ushering in the new year.

One can count on Hindi movie actors to sing and dance (or at least sing) on all important occasions, including the last day of the year. As regulars of this blog may have noticed, I did not even find time to discuss my usual 6 odd songs today. It shows that I was tied up in some other works. For once, we took our three pets, nuppy the cat, Bhhole and Chhotu the dogs, to the vet to get them their regular vacceines etc. On the way back, we gave my wife’s laptop to the computer shop to attend to its keyboard. The u, l and enter keys of that computer are not working. If I were to use that computer to discuss this song then I would be constrained to tell my readers that this song is sng by Anradha Padwa and Shaiendra Singh, lyrics are by Verma Maik, and msic is composed by axmikant Pyarea. 🙂

The readers should be thankful that I am not using that computer for this write up, and so I can correctly inform my readers that this song is sung by Anuradha Paudwal and Shailendra Singh, lyrics are by Verma Malik, and music is composed by Laxmikant Pyarelal. 🙂

After coming back home, my wife told me that she saw a TV programme where she learnt that one should eat salary to reduce weight and so she was determined to reduce her weight by eating up my salary. You mean “celery”, I asked. I only know Salary, so I have to eat up your salary, so pay up, she demanded. So right now she has gone out to reduce her weight by eating up my salary. 🙂 And that has given me the time to come up with the write up of this song, which will be the last write up of this year 2011.

It was a nice and fruitful year as far as this blog was concerned. we grew up from strength to strength. I hope that the next year will be even better.

So here is this lovely song to conclude the year of 2011. I wish all visitors of this blog a happy and prosperous new year.

Here is this nice year ending song from “Beraham”(1980)

do re me fa so la ti do
ye saal ki aakhri raat hai
zara samajhne waali baat hai
tu kal ki kal pe chhod de

do ti la so fa me re do

do re me fa so la ti do
naye saal ki pehli raat hai
zara samajhne waali baat hai
aaja muhabbat baant len
ye Kudrat ki saugaat hai
ye Kudrat ki saugaat hai
ye Kudrat ki saugaat hai

ru ru ru
agar sunehri mauqa
aaj bhi kho jaayegaa
ik saal jawaani ka
aur kam ho jaayegaa

agar sunehri mauqa
aaj bhi kho jaayegaa
ik saal jawaani ka
aur kam ho jaayegaa
hamsafar koi
mil jaaaye to
har raat teri shabraat hai
ae ae ae
do re me fa so la ti do
naye saal ki pehli raat hai
zara samajhne waali baat hai
aaja muhabbat baant len
ye Kudrat ki saugaat hai
ye Kudrat ki saugaat hai
ye Kudrat ki saugaat hai
ae ae ae

do re me fa so la ti do

Atul ji.
Wishing you a very happy new year Twenty Twelve. May you have a wonderful and eventful year ahead.
May be next year you can bring same name films e.g. aurat (1940), aurat (1953) aurat (1967)..
I got idea oof same name films…from reading your blog.
Homonyms are words that sound alike, but have different meanings.
(A)
salary (SAL uh ree, SAL ree) = wages paid for service.
celery (SEL uh ree) = A plant
(B)
cell, (SEL) = battery cell
sell, (SEL) = to be purchased
(C)
caster (KAS tuhr) = A small wheel
castor oil (KAS tuhr OIL)…

Speaking of you cat (Nuppy) she rhyme with happy but she not a puppy but a cat.
Some part of India the regional words “KAT” means Katha, the brown powder that we used in PAAN.
Some might say at paanwala shop, put KAT in my paan too…:)

Thanks for being able to post this, Atul. I know this song for many years and noticed by chance that it was not yet posted here. So this was the perfect occasion for it. 🙂

Wish you and your loved ones a very happy and healthy 2012.

And of course our beloved blog too. I am sure it will continue to go from strength to strength. The current count (if it is updated) says 5227. (Not that it is quantity that matters, it is the quality).

Wish all our readers here a very happy and healthy 2012 too.
