Lyrics(Provided by Atif M)
muhabbat mein aise zamaane bhi aaye
kabhi ro diye hum
kabhi muskuraaye
muhabbat mein aise zamaane bhi aaye
kabhi ro diye hum
kabhi muskuraaye
muhabbat ki aankhon se
ashkon ko chun kar
muhabbat ki aankhon se
ashkon ko chun kar
kisi ne falak par sitaare sajaaye
kisi ne falak par sitaare sajaaye
muhabbat mein aise zamaane bhi aaye
kabhi ro diye hum
kabhi muskuraaye
muhabbat mein aise zamaane bhi aaye
kabhi ro diye hum
kabhi muskuraaye
banaaya thha ik aashiyaan do dilon ne
banaaya thha ik aashiyaan do dilon ne
zamaane ki aandhi ne tinke udaaye
zamaane ki aandhi ne tinke udaaye
muhabbat mein aise
zamaane bhi aaye
kabhi ro diye hum
kabhi muskuraaye
muhabbat mein aise
zamaane bhi aaye
kabhi ro diye hum
kabhi muskuraaye
muhabbat jo ki hai to
fariyaad na kar
fariyaad na kar
muhabbat jo ki hai to
fariyaad na kar
fariyaad na kar
muhabbat pe ilzaam
aane na paaye
muhabbat pe ilzaam
aane na paaye
muhabbat mein aise
zamaane bhi aaye
kabhi ro diye hum
kabhi muskuraaye
muhabbat mein aise
zamaane bhi aaye
kabhi ro diye hum
kabhi muskuraaye

Kyati ji,
Yes,she was in Sargam.
REHANA debuted in 1946,in Hum ek hai, with Devanand,Rehman and lyricist P.L.Santoshi-all debutants with this one movie
.Rehana was the most sexy star of her times.Due to phenomenal success of Shahnai and Sajan-47,she became a hit star. She paired with all leading stars of that era, except Dilip Kumar, like Raj Kapoor,Dev Anand,Premmnath,Shekhar,Shyam,Kishore kumar,Prem adeeb etc.
She was famous for 2 things.1) her seductive dances and 2) various controversies.
She gave an objectional scene with Nigar Sultana in Sunehre din and a bath scene in Dilruba-50.She was always in news. Her ‘shinshina ki bubla bu’ was the first film to be banned by censors.
After 1952,her films flopped and frustrated she migrated to Pakistan in 1956.In Pakistan also after few films she spent a secluded life till the end.She was last in news in 1995 for some award function.
Some more of her films were,Khidki,Tadbir, actress,Sagai,Billi,Chanda ki chandni etc.

Thanks Arunji for the info. I never knew she is the one singing the best of Lataji and C.Ranchandra combo song, tum kya jano tumhari yaad mein…..
She looks petite like Nalini Jaywant and Usha Kiran(?)

I don’t know whether it is just a coincidence but whenever I get to listen to songs of C Ramchandra on YT, most of these songs are from films in which Rehana is the lead actor and P L Santoshi is director/lyricist.
I must attempt an exercise of counting Rehana-P L Santoshi-C Ramchandra combo films. 🙂

Kamath ji,
Both Rehana and PLSantoshi debuted at the same time in the debutant Dev Anand’s film HUM EK HAI-1946.The fourth debutant thru this film was Rehman.
Right from begining.PLSantoshi was besotted with Rehana’s charm and beauty. There was a talk in the Industry that time and it also created a Tea-cup storm in Santoshi’s married life.Initially they were together in several films together, later she and Santoshi parted way mutually and for their own careers.
May be that is the reason why you are coming accross so many songs in which both are involved.

Talat’s silken voice accompanied by C Ramchandra’s dulcet tune and of course Lata’s mellow crooning has made this a song par excellence.

Like father P.L.Santhoshi, son RajKumar Santhoshi was once upon a time besotted by his muse Meenakshi Sheshadri`s charm(In the movie DAAMINI, Rishi kapoor the hero of the movie is relagated to second slot and the main hero was Meenakshi. Rishi said in an interview “Kaash Hamien bhi aise khyaal rakhnewaale director koi mil jaatha!!!!”)(Rajkumar santhoshi had dedicated the movie to Meenakshi and gone to the extent of showing his love to Meenakshi by displaying a message on the credit cards of his directiorial venture DAMINI:
“To CHERRY With love(Cherry is his pet name to Meenakshi)
But Meenakshi`s mother came in between and spoiled Rajkumar Santhoshi`s marriage plan with Meenakshi. Later on Rajkumar santhoshi married some other girl Meenakshi found her match with an NRI.
