Atul’s Song A Day- A choice collection of Hindi Film & Non-Film Songs

Mujhe tumse muhabbat hai

Posted on: January 24, 2012

Posting writeups during journey is turning out to be more difficult than I thought on this return journey. I was hoping that I would be able to discuss several songs in this return journey but so far I have been unable to do so. With difficulty, I have managed to post one song so far. Here is another song for the day.

This song is sung by Suraiyya and so it follows that the song is picturised on Suraiyya as well. Rajinder Krishan is the lyricist. Music is composed by Anil Biswas.

Lyrics of this song were sent to me by nahm.

Song-Mujhe tumse muhabbat hai (Do Sitaare)(1951) Singer-Suraiyya, Lyrics-Rajinder Krishan, MD-Anil Biswas

Lyrics(Provided by nahm)

mujhe tum se mohabbat hai
mujhe tum se mohabbat hai
mujhe tum se mohabbat hai
mujhe tum se mohabbat hai
magar ab tak kahaan thhe tum
mujhe tum se shikaayat hai
mujhe tum se mohabbat hai
mujhe tum se mohabbat hai
mujhe tum se

mohabbat jis qadar hoti hai
lehron ko kinaare se
mohabbat jis qadar hoti hai
lehron ko kinaare se
musaafir ko andheri raat mein
roshan sitaare se
musaafir ko andheri raat mein
roshan sitaare se
muhobbat ki qasam tum se
mujhe itni muhobbat hai
muhobbat ki qasam tum se
mujhe itni muhobbat hai
mujhe tum se mohabbat hai
mujhe tum se mohabbat hai
mujhe tum se

mere honthon pe sapnon mein tumhaara naam aata thhaa
mere honton pe sapnon mein tumhaara naam aata thhaa
tumhaare naam se dil ko badaa aaraam aata thhaa
tumhaare naam se dil ko badaa aaraam aata thhaa
wahi ho tum mujhe jis se muhobbat thhi muhobbat hai
wahi ho tum mujhe jis se muhobbat thhi muhobbat hai
mujhe tum se mohabbat hai
mujhe tum se mohabbat hai
mujhe tum se

DO SITARE-1951,a Famous Pict.presentation was produced and directed by D.D.Kashyap,who also wrote its S/Play.dialogues were by Rajinder Singh Bedi.
This was a movie when Dev and Suriaya were on top and almost every producer wanted to benefit from this popular loving couple. The story, dialogues and other sundries were immaterial, for the makers were sure that crowds came only to see Dev and Suriaya, whatever they did on the screen. The music however must be good.Anil Biswas was a sureshot winner hands down.Still,in this film, his music did not become that popular.

Rani(Suraiya) loves Prakash(Dev),who works in her father’s office. After few months, her father(Niranjan Sharma) wanted to get these both lovebirds married, but the office owner,Seth Badri prasad(Baij Sharma) objects, for the simple reason that his daughter Ruma(Kuldip Kaur) also loves Prakash.Sethji tries to force Prakash and Rani’s father with promotion and more salary, but they dont budge.Meanwhile Murari(Premnath) loves Lajo(Shakuntala) sister of Prakash. He also needs 25000 rupees for his project.Sethji promises him both things if he convinces Prakash to marry Ruma.Murari refuses to interfere.
When Rani’s father comes to know about this he tries to steal money from sethji’s house and is caught red handed.
Now the Sethji has upper hand.Murari and Prakash hatch a secret plan against the Sethji. The plan succeeds and both love pairs,Rani-Prakash ans Lajo-Murari get married with all elders’ blessings.
The End.

The line in first stanza is ” Musafir ko andheri rat men ROSHAN sitare se” and not ” Musafir ko andheri rat men RO KAR sitare se “.
