The song under discussion is a classic example of a song that I thought had already been discussed in the blog long time ago, but I was wrong. This is a song whose lyrics are well known to all, including me, and this song is quite well known to all, even if there may be people like me who are vague about the details of this song.

A semi classical creation from N Dutta. A versatile musician, N Dutta’s films display the range of his creativity. In a career that lasted a better part of three decades from 50s thru 70s, most of his film names sound like B/C grade films, with very few A grade films or known hits to his credit. A few names do stand out as films easily remembered, viz., Chandrakanta, Hum Panchhi Ek Daal Ke, Dharamputra, Saadhna, Dhool Ka Phool, Black Cat, Bhai Bahen, Didi, Naya Raasta etc.

Posting writeups during journey is turning out to be more difficult than I thought on this return journey. I was hoping that I would be able to discuss several songs in this return journey but so far I have been unable to do so. With difficulty, I have managed to post one song so far. Here is another song for the day.

So I come across this foot tapping melody by Rafi Saab, and as I start looking for details, up comes the name of the picture – “Miss ‘58”. First reaction is ‘wow, ok’. But then, thinking of the film “Mr and Mrs ‘55”, well why not “Miss ‘58”. Then a little more browsing on the blog reveals that there are already six films represented here whose names start with ‘Miss. . .’. and eight films starting with ‘Mr. . .’, and of course ‘Mr and Mrs 55’. And a cursory browse through the list of films from other sources, shows that there still are more films starting with ‘Miss’ and ‘Mr’ that are awaiting entry on this website.

I was not sure how many songs I will be able to discuss today since I am undertaking a long 20 hours journey by train and going by my past experience, I know that internet connectivity is a problem during that time. But I am pleasantly surprised to fingd that the internet has held up for nearly an hour. It helps that the train is passing through an area which is a metropilital city and as such good connectivity is assured as long as the train remains in this area (which means for another 10 minutes). So I may as well make the most of it.
