Here is yet another song of the genre “how come this song was not posted earlier !”. And all along, I was under the impression that this song was discussed long back. I was wrong in my assumption, of course.
This song is a fantastic composition in all respects. If one has to look for a song where love is expressed in an understated and refined way (as well as according to Indian traditions), then this has to be an almost perfect song for the occasion. The lyrics of Raja Mehdi Ali Khan could not be any better, the music of Madan Mohan could not have set the tone any better and the singing by Rafi and Asha Bhonsle are sublime. The song is piuctured beautifully on Dharmendra and Mala Sinha.
Here is this long due song finally getting its due in the blog. And the long suffering contributor who was waiting patiently all these days for this song to appear was nahm, who had sent the lyrics of this song long back.

Mukesh sang 5000 songs but surprising female singers have sung many times over>>Lata -26k; Asha -16k.
It means Mukesh sang 1 song per week, Rafi sang few songs per week. The sisters may be singing few songs per day! In fact Asha holds a record of singing 23 songs in a day.
Really prolific and highly productive and satisfying years. They say quantity is achieved only at the sacrifice of quality. But these sisters have made nonsense of the adage. In spite of quantity they have sung each and every song perfectly and to the entire satisfaction of the various exacting MDs. Still they feel they could have done better! Still their appetite is not satiated. Lata is planning a new album. Asha is always upto something or the other. They wont rest on their laurels. Great. Salaam Memsaabs or should we say Salaam Memdidis!!!

As far as I remember Kumar sanu holds the record of recording 29 songs in a day.
