Ek ajnabi teri baahon mein rahe

Posted on: July 30, 2012

Regulars may have noticed that I only posted three songs today which is far lower than what I would have liked. But then I found myself extremely strapped for time later today. I discussed three songs today and when I read the newspaper, I was reminded that the deadline for filing the income tax return was 31 july. In other words, I could no longer postpone it.

The newspaper contained some useful information about this process. The paper mentioned that though theoretically one can file the return as early as 1 april, but in reality it is not possible for several reasons, including a reason as mundane as the revised I T return form and related instructions itself not being made available by the IT department till much later. Then various employers too supply necessary documents required for I T Return only in july. So that made me feel “better”. I was not the only one who was waiting till the last moment, I consoled myself.

But filing I T return the traditional way is such a hassle. And it is clear that doing it the manual way would be extremely tedious. I found from the newspaper article that it was possible to file one’s I T return online. Was it so ? I began to feel better. So instead of posting more songs in the blog, I began to find out about online filing of I T return by logging on the I t Dept site. I found that one could file one’s return online but one needed to take a printout of the online form and mail it to IT dept. In that case it is not truly online, I thought. I found out that one needed to have digital signature if one wanted the process to be truly paperless. So I wondered if I could buy one digital signature for myself. I found that getting one digital signature itself was not fully online either because one needed to send some paper documents for the purpose and that would easily take more time extending beyond the deadline of 31 july. So finally I was reconciled to getting it done the hard way, viz. by filling up the physical form and then finding out someone to take it to the I T office. But I could not locate the I T Form that I had. So I decided to download the form and print it. I downloaded it alright, but my printer turned bewafa. It would not print the red colour, and the relevat I T form was predominantly in red colour. So what do I do ?

When I was checking up my bank account, I found that there was a mention of the bank providing the facility of e filing one’s I T return by tying up with an I T dept authorised e intermediary. I clicked the link, kept on following the instructions in filling the form and found that finally the I T return was ready and then the e intermediary would file it and e mail the receipt to me. I found it a far more hassle free experience than filing online I T return as prescribed by I T dept, because it was fully paperless.

I felt quite pleased with myself and I stayed pleased the whole day.

Now it is the evening and now I felt that I should discuss at least one more song for today.

Here is this belated posting for the day. This song is from “Shera Daaku” (1966). The song is sung by Asha Bhonsle and it is picturised on Nishi and Randhawa. Asad Bhopali is the lyricist. Music is composed by my favourite music director Ganesh.

Lyrics of this song were sent to me by Prakashchandra. He mentions that a well known site mentions this song as sung by Suman Kalyanpur, though the voice sounds like Asha Bhoonsle. I fully agree with him that it is Asha Bhonsle’s voice.

Song-Ek ajnabi teri baahon mein rahe (Shera Daaku)(1966) Singer-Asha Bhonsle, Lyrics-Asad Bhopali, MD-Ganesh

Lyrics(Provided by Prakashchandra)

ek ajnabi
teri baahon mein rahe
ek ajnabi
teri baahon mein rahe
main dekhti rahoon
kuchch na keh sakoon
magar main ye kahoongi
ke mera dil jale
ke meraa dil jale
ke mera dil jale
ke meraa dil jale
ek ajnabi
teri baahon mein rahe
ek ajanabi
teri baahon mein rahe
main dekhti rahoon…ooo
kuchch na keh sakoon
magar main ye kahoongi
mera dil jale
ke meraa dil jale
ke mera dil jale
ke meraa dil jale

teri
waffa pe thhaa bharosaa
ke toone bewaffaayee
kissi kaa ho gayaa
toone zaraa bhi ye na sochaa
ke meri zindagi mein
andheraa ho gayaa
gair ko jo chaahaa
mujh mein kyaa kamee hai
kal jo dilkhashee thi
aaj bhi wohi hai
phir kissi ko kyun
tu lagaaye hai gale
ke mera dil jale
ke mera dil jale
ke meraa dil jale…eeee
ke meraa dil jale
ek ajnabi
teri baahon mein rahe
ek ajnabi
teri baahon mein rahe
main dekhthi rahoon
kuchch na keh sakoon
magar main ye kahoongi
mera dil jale
ke meraa dil jale
ke mera dil jale
ke meraa dil jale

kal ke
woh meethe meethe waade
woh kasmein woh iraade
na jaane kyaa huye
zaalim woh din
hansi khushi ke
nagmon ke bekhudi ke
zamaane kyaa huye
aaj aur kal mein
farq hai to itnaa
aaj hai haqeeqat
kal thhaa ek sapnaa
beete sapne ab
aansuoon mein dhal chale
ke mera dil jale
ke meraa dil jale
ke mera dil jale
ke mera dil jale
ek ajnabi
teri baahon mein rahe
ek ajnabi
teri baahon mein rahe
main dekhti rahoon
kuchch na keh sakoon…ooo
magar main ye kahoongi
mera dil jale
ke meraa dil jale
ke mera dil jale
ke meraa dil jale
