“Mela” (1948) was a Wadia Films production. S U Sunny and Hila Wadia were its producers. S U Sunny had directed this movie which had Dilip Kumar, Nargis, Jeevan, Roopkamal, Amar, Rehman, Baby Zubaida, Noorjehaan, Chandabai, Allaudin, Khalil, Abbas, Maqbul Jr., Ghulam Mohmed Jr. etc in it.
As many as seven songs from this movie hve been discussed in the past but there are still many more songs from this movie that are not covered yet.
The song is sung by Mukesh and Shamshad Begam. The song is picturised as a bullock cart song where Dilip Kumar is the bullock cart driver and Nargis is seated on the passenger seat, if such a thing was there on a bullock cart. It is quite obvious that much of the song is picturised on studio, since the bullock cart carrying the two of them is shown only fleetingly for a few seconds only in the picturisation.
Shakeel Badayuni is the lyricist. Music is composed by Naushad.
