Bhool jaate hain bhool jaaya karen

Posted on: September 2, 2012

“Neelkamal” (1947) was an Oriental Pictures production. It was directed by Kidar Sharma. The movie had Raj Kapoor, Madhubala, Begam Para, Nazira, Rajendra, Pesi pate, Pt Iqbal etc in it.

Here is a song from this movie. It is sung by Rajkumari. It is picturised on a very young (then only 14 years old) Madhubala, with another lady also visible from a distance.

Kidar Sharma is the lyricist of this song. Music is composed by B Vasudev, which was another name of the music director who is more familiar to us as Snehal Bhatkar.

I have been unable to get a few words in the lyrics. I request our readers with keener ears to point out the correct/ missing words in the lyrics.

She looks so ordinary. After the makeover she turns into a stunning beauty. So much for make-up

I can fill in with the lyrics missed out:

The second Antaraa is:

Saaz Woh Hai
Tadap uthe sab taar
Thes aisee woh lagaaya karen

The third Antaraa is:

Hasaraten meri rooth Jaayegi
Mere sapano mein bhi naa aaya karen

Lovely song by Rajkumari in Madhubala’s first movie as a heroin.

Thanks for the missing words.

IMHO Madhubala does not look stunning as usual because she is yet to blossom fully. Kidar Sharma (or his one time assistant RK) would definitely not forget to ask his heroine to apply make up 😉
