Ye mausam bheega bheega hai

Posted on: October 16, 2012

“Dharti” (1970) was a Chitralaya Production. It was produced and directed by Sridhar. The movie had Rajendra Kumar, Waheeda Rehman, Kumkum, Ajit, Balraj Sahni, Kamini Kaushal, Rajendra Nath, Sudesh Kumar, Pahadi Sanyal etc in it.

Two songs from this movie have been discussed in the past. Here is the third song from this movie. It is a Lata Rafi duet. It is picturised on Waheeda Rehman and Rajendra Kapoor. This was one of the last movies as lead actors for both of them.

Hasrat Jaipuri is the lyricistr. Music is composed by Shankar Jakishan.

Lyrics of this song were sent to me by Atif M.

Song-Ye mausam bheega bheega hai(Dharti)(1970) Singers-Lata, Rafi, Lyrics-Hasrat Jaipuri, MD-Shankar Jaikishan
Lata + Rafi

Lyrics(Provided by Atif M)

yeh mausam bheega bheega hai
hawa bhi zyaada zyaada hai
kyun na machlega dil mera
tum ko paane ka iraada hai
yeh mausam bheega bheega hai
hawa bhi zyaada zyaada hai
kyun na machlega dil mera
tum ko paane ka iraada hai
yeh mausam bheega bheega hai
hawa bhi zyaada zyaada hai
kyun na machlega dil mera
tum ko paane ka iraada hai

yeh mausam bheega bheega hai

ijaazat ho to
mere sarkaar ke pehloo mein aa jaaun
ijaazat ho to
mere dildaar ke dil mein samaa jaaun

haan aa
haan haan haan haan
yeh mausam bheega bheega hai
hawa bhi zyaada zyaada hai
kyun na machlega dil mera
tum ko paane ka iraada hai
yeh mausam bheega bheega hai
hawa bhi zyaada zyaada hai
kyun na machlega dil mera
tum ko paane ka iraada hai

yeh mausam bheega bheega hai

sharam ko chhod do
mere jaanaan
gale se tum bhi mil jaao
yeh parda tod do
mere jaanaan
meri saanson mein ghul jaao

hana aaa
haan haan haan haan
yeh mausam bheega bheega hai
hawa bhi zyaada zyaada hai
kyun na machlega dil mera
tum ko paane ka iraada hai
yeh mausam bheega bheega hai
hawa bhi zyaada zyaada hai
kyun na machlega dil mera
tum ko paane ka iraada hai

yeh mausam bheega bheega hai

Atul Ji, in the second paragraph, you have mentioned Rajendra Kumar as Rajendra Kapoor :).

This song was played so often on the radio. Such a catchy song, but I find the line “Hawa bhi jyada jyada hai” rather unpoetic.

One of those songs from my ‘yaadon ki baaraat-seventies’…
Thanks !!

@ Atul ji – kindly correct the name of RAJENDRA KUMAR in Para-II as pointed out by Pradeep ji also.
