Neele ambar ke do naina

Posted on: March 7, 2013

“Asha Jyoti”(1984) was produced by Kovai Chezhiyan and directed by Dasari Narayana Rao. The movie had Rajesh Khanna, Reena Roy, Rekha, Madan Puri, Asrani, Deena Pathak, Om Shivpuri, Roopesh Kumar etc in it.

Here is a song from “Asha Jyoti” (1984). The song is sung by Kishore Kumar. It is picturised on Rajesh Khanna who is shown singing this song while playing a Veena. Rekha dances on the song while Reena Roy, playing Rajesh Khanna’s wife smells a rat (figuratively) suspecting the two of them to be having an affair. The lyrics of the song add fuel to the fire as can be expected in a movie with such story lines. 🙂

Anjaan is the lyricist and and music is composed by Laxmikant Pyarelal.

Lyrics of this song were sent to me by Avinash Scrapwala.

Song-Neele ambar ke do naina (Asha Jyoti)(1984) Singer-Kishore Kumar, Lyrics-Anjaan, MD-Laxmikant Pyarelal

Lyrics(Provided by Avinash Scrapwala)

Neele ambar ke do nainaa aa aa
kisey chaahe kise naa aa aa
neele ambar ke do nainaa
do nainaa aa aa
kisey chaahe kisey naa
ek din hai to ik rainaa aa
kisey chaahe kisey naa aa aa
neele ambar ke do nainaa aa aa
kisey chaahe kisey naa

mandir mein do moorat ho to
koi pujaari phool chadhaaye
ik man mein do soorat ho to
koi kaise preet nibhaaye
ek sach hai to ik sapnaa aa
kisey chaahe kise naa aa aa
neele ambar ke do nainaa
do nainaa aa aa
kisey chaahe kise naa

ik pal rimjhim barkhaa barsey
dooje pal bijuree lehraaye
ik badraa mein
barkhaa bijuree
dono hai ik sang samaaye
dono maane use apnaa aa
kisey chaahe kise naa aa
neele ambar ke do nainaa
do nainaa aa
kisey chaahe kise naa

kabhi kabhi kismat anjaane
aise do-raahe per laaye
pyaar jahaan ban jaaye uljhan
paagal man kuchh samajh naa paaye
chale man par koi bas naa aa
kisey chaahe kise naa aa aa
neele ambar ke do nainaa
do nainaa aa aa
kisey chaahe kisey naa
ek din hai to ik rainaa aa
kisey chaahe kise naa aa
neele ambar ke do nainaa
kisey chaahe kise naa

Nice song, Must be a remake of either a Telugu or Tamil movie. Those times they used to make many films with one hero and 2 heroines.

Lovely song! “Veena” or “Sitar”?

Pratap ji, i do sent it as a ‘sitar song’, but since Atul ji tagged it as ‘veena song’, i think i was wrong !
After your comments i had shared this post with my Guru ji who is also a ‘great sitarist’ and it is confirmed that it is the ‘Sitar’ what Rajesh Khanna is holding and its a ‘ Sitar Song’!
also i would to share what he observes further – in his own words – ‘what Rajesh Khanna is holding is a sitar. Although his finger movements don’t match the notes played by a professional sitarist who played them so beautifully during the recording’ !
thanks Pratap ji for your feedback and comments !!!
