Aayiye bahaar ko ham baant len

Posted on: March 20, 2013

“Taqdeer” (1967) was a Rajshree Productions movie. It was produced by Tarachand Barjatya and directed by A Saleem. The movie had Bharat Bhushan, Shalini Mardholkar, Kamal Kapoor, Farida Jalaal, Kaajal, Subhash Ghai, Ajay Kumar, Jalal Agha, Susheel Kumar, Champak Laala, Dinesh Kumar, Dilip Dutt, Usha, Namita Guha, Master Shahid, Lalita Kumari, Indira Bansal, Narbada Shankar, Tuntun, Sunder, Salim, Amir Ali etc in it.

AS many as five songs from this movie have been discussed in the past including the iconic song Jab jab bahaar aayi aur phool muskuraaye.

Here is the sixth song from the movie. It is sung by Lata and chorus. The song is picturised on Farida Jalal, Jalal Agha, Subhash Ghai etc. Anand Bakshi is the lyricist and music is composed by Laxmikant Pyarelal.

Prakashchandra, who sent me the lyrics and other details of this song guesses that the two other opersons in the picturisation could be Sudhil Kumar (of Dosti fame) and Kaajal, but he is not sure. I request our other knowledgeable readers to help identify these actors.

Prakash ji,

Lovely song and a wonderful reminder. This song has been a very dear song since childhood. The melody and the rendering is so lovely, and the words just take your heart away – “aaiye bahaar ko hum baant len. . .”.
