“Aman” (1967) was an Emkay productions movie. It was produced and directed by Mohan Kumar. The movie had Rajendra Kumar, Saira Bano, Chetan Anand, Om Prakash, Balraj Sahni, Chand Usmani, Sajjan, Sunder, Brahm Bhardwaj, Daya Devi, Baby Kavita, Suresh etc in it.

Two songs from this movie have been discussed in the past. Here is the third song from this movie. This song is a teasing song which is sung by Rafi and it is picturised on Rajendra Kumar and Saira Bano.

Hasrat Jaipuri is the lyricist. Music is composed by Shankar Jaikishan.

Lyrics of this song were sent to me by Atif M.

Song-Suraahidaar gardan koyal si hai aawaaz (Aman)(1967) Singer-Rafi, Lyrics-Hasrat Jaipuri, MD-Shankar Jaikishan

Lyrics(Provided by Atif M)

suraahidaar gardan
koyal si hai aawaaz
teri har ek baat pe
mujhko hai bada naaz
suraahidaar gardan
koyal si hai aawaaz
teri har ek baat pe
mujhko hai bada naaz

kaajal bhari aankhon mein haya dekh raha hoon
kaajal bhari aankhon mein haya dekh raha hoon
maasoom adaaon mein wafa dekh raha hoon
maasoom adaaon mein wafa dekh raha hoon
milte nahin duniya ke haseenon mein yeh andaaz
teri har ek baat pe mujhko hai bada naaz
suraahidaar gardan
koyal si hai aawaaz
teri har ek baat pe
mujhko hai bada naaz

aayi thi khayaalon mein jo tasweer tu hi hai
aayi thi khayaalon mein jo tasweer tu hi hai
likhi hai lakeeron mein jo taqdeer tu hi hai
likhi hai lakeeron mein jo taqdeer tu hi hai
pehli hi mulaaqaat mein sab khul gaye thhe raaz
teri har ek baat pe mujhko hai bada naaz
suraahidaar gardan
koyal si hai aawaaz
teri har ek baat pe
mujhko hai bada naaz

jis raah se guzroon
tu mere saath rahegi
jis raah se guzroon
tu mere saath rahegi
tu aakhri dam tak bhi mere paas rahegi
tu aakhri dam tak bhi mere paas rahegi
ab tere siwa kaun banega mera hamraaz
teri har ek baat pe mujhko hai bada naaz
suraahidaar gardan
koyal si hai aawaaz
teri har ek baat pe
mujhko hai bada naaz

Hopefully somebody will post the sad version too.

I was able to find only this small part, just three lines from the last stanza. Is longer audio available anywhere ?

quite possible its the same, but cant confirm.

nahm ji,

This is the only and full sad version.

Sir,

Thanks for confirming. This sad version would have made an equally good song, if completed.

Very sweet song, lovelly words, perfect tune, extremly perfect its instruments, parti.orchestra when camera sees very wide seen from
long,S.J were expert in this type of songs. They have done whole work very perfectly….and why they will not do THEY WERE ON THE TOP IN 1965-66.SURAJ,was begging the best music filmfare award that time.So many rafiji’s songs of similar mood, are avlable, husn se chaand bhi sharmaya hai, taarif karu kya uski jisne…aankhon pe palkon ke ghunghat gaalon pe zulfon ka pahera,.jahan tu hai wahan phir chandni ko kaun poochhega, jaane bahar husn tera bemissal hai,etc etc.I remember AMAN was super flop on the box office, viewers were sleeping in the theater,BUT whenever they listen the initial music of the song they open their eyes and watch the whole song very eagerlly, again they fall in deep sleep aftr song.I CAN SAY ONLY S.J COULD BRING PEOPLE UP TO THE THEATER.
