“Chakori” (1949) was a Ramesh Pictures production. It was directed by Ramnarayan Dube. The movie had Bharat Bhushan, Nalini Jaywant, Om Prakash, Manorama, Cuckoo etc in it.
Two songs from this movie have been discussed in the past. Here is the third song from the movie. The song is sung by Lata. Mulkraj Bhakri is the lyricist. Music is composed by Hansraj Bahl.

Many online sites mention Verma Malik as the lyricist, but it is Mulkraj Bhakri who had written the lyrics of all the songs of this movie. Verma Malik made his debut asa lyricist in 1951 with “Phoolon Ke Haar”.
While going through the lyrics, I came across a few lines that did not make grammatical sense to me. For instance, the line
dil hamne diya hai
hamen pyaar kiya hai
would make sense if hamen is replaced with hamne.
Also, in the line
aankhon mein aashiqi hai
saawan ki badliyaan
the word aashiqi makes little sense. It it is replaced by aa chuki then it makes perfect sense.
It would seem to me that the lyricist was not available during the recording to check how his lyrics were being recorded by the singer. There may be cases where singer may not be clear about a few words in the lyrics and may pronounce them incorrectly if left to his/her own devices. This song seems to be one such example.
I have read somewhere that Anand Bakshi always made it a point to attend the recordings of songs written by him and there he was able to correct may words that were being pronounced differently from what were intended. it is attention to such minor details that may sometimes make all the difference in the fortunes of these songs.
