We come to 1948 now. From the previous years, i.e. from 1942 to 1947, all songs of Mukesh, as per current records, are now posted on this blog. With one exception. I am still trying to trace the Mukesh – Shamshad Begum duet from ‘Laakhon Mein Ek’, the one song still to be posted for 1947.

This is the title song of Mukti (1977). Death and Loss play a central role in the film in different forms. Thus this song is used in bits and parts throughout the film. I have included the complete audio version and also the bits which I could find, which were used in the film. Since these bits give away the ending of the film, a SPOILER ALERT! “Chingaari” (1971), despite being a recent movie by the standards of this blog is quite an obscure movie. Searching information about this movie hardly yields any information. Apparently this movie got released in 1989, despite being a movie of 1971. This movie had Sanjay Khan, Leena Chandawarkar, Shatrughan Sinha, Rehman, Pran, Padma Khanna, Jr Mehmood, David, Tiwari, Jagirdar etc in it.
