Here is a song on the ocassion of ‘ Eid-ul-fitr ‘. This is a Rafi – Lata duet starting with the aplphabet ‘E’. So this song also takes care of the ‘E’ in this A-Z of Rafi songs.
This song is from the movie Sohni Mahiwal (1958), starring Bharat Bhooshan and Nimmi in the title roles. The music is by Naushad and lyricist is Shakeel Badayuni. This is a sad song, not really in accordance with the festival spirit, but since this is about Eid and I found it while looking for E songs, this serves the purpose.
Three songs from this movie are already posted making this the fourth song. It is such a nice duet by Rafi Sahab and Lata Mangehskar, that I am surprised it is not posted yet.
I may like to do a similar A-Z series of Lata Mangeshkar songs in future. That would be great fun, if only I could find an excel sheet of Lata’s songs, similar to the Rafi one. Even without such a comprehensive information, that series is worth doing, though more time consuming.
So, here is the song and wishing ‘Eid Mubarak’ to all.

Eid is an occasion of joy, unfortunately this is a sad number. Just a thought.
