“Talaash” (1969) was produced and directed by O P Ralhan. The movie had Rajendra Kumar, Sharmila Tagore, Helen, Sunder, Balraj Sahni, O. P. Ralhan, Sulochana, Sajjan, Jeevan, Madan Puri, Sapru, Randhir, Tuntun, Mumtaz Begum, Nadira, Shahu Modak, Hari Shivdasani etc in it.

This movie had eight songs in it. As many as seven songs from this movie have been discussed in the past.

Here is the eighth and final song from the movie. This song is sung by Asha Bhonsle, Mahendra Kapoor and chorus. The song is picturised as a cabarat song in a club which is naturally teeming with baddies.

This song is picturised on Helen and a gentleman who I am unable to identify. He pronounces “r” as “d” and thus he pronouces “pyaar” as “pyaad” and “yaar” as “yaad”. 🙂 I request our knowledgeable readers to help identify him. My wild guess is that he is O P Ralhan.

Majrooh Sultanpuri is the lyricist. Music is composed by S D Burman. The music bears the stamp of R D Burman though. We know that S D Burman had fallen sick during the making of “Aradhana” (1969) and most songs of that movie were famously composed by R D Burman. “Talaash” (1969) was very much a contemporary of “Aradhana” (1969) and my guess is that R D Burman composed a few songs in this movie as well. I am sure our knowledgeable readers vcan throw considerable light on this matter.

With this song, “Talaash” (1969) joins the list of movies whose songs are fully covered in the blog.
