“Parwaana” (1971) was a Shri Ambika Chitra Production and it was directed by Jyoti Swaroop. The movie had Navin Nischol and Yogita bali in lead roles with Amitabh Bachchan as the villain ! Others in the movie included Om prakash, Lalita Pawar, Asit Sen, Helen, Ranjeeta Thakur, Abhi Bhattacharya, Laxmi Chhaya, Shatrughan Sinha(in Friendly Appearance), Anwar Ali, Vikram Gokhale,Haroon,Ram Mohan, Rajni Gupta,Hercules, Narmada Shankar, Misrilal etc.

Today (24 october 2013) happens to be the birthday of our favourite blogger and pet lover extraordinaire Greta (Memsaab). On this occasion, here is a song from “Parwaana” (1971). This song is sung by Asha Bhonsle and this song features Memsaab’s favourite Helen in it. Oscar Unger also figures in the picturisation as do Navin Nischol, Yogita Bali and Amitabh Bachchan.

This club dance is a creation of a lyricist-Music director pair who are normally not associated with such genre of songs. Kaifi Azmi is the lyricist and music is composed by Madan Mohan.

We take this opportunity to wish Greta a very happy and pleasant birthday. She happens to be visiting India these days and we consider ourselves fortunate that Greta has chosen to celebrate her birthday in India. I hope that she will have a very fruitful stay in India.

The lyrics of this song were sent to me by Prakashchandra.

Song-Chale ladkhadaa ke (Parwaana)(1971) Singer-Asha Bhonsle, Lyrics-Kaifi Azmi, MD-Madan Mohan

Lyrics (Provided by Prakashchandra)

chale ladkhadaa ke
kadam dagmagaa ke
nahin hosh hamko
kissi baat kaa aa
chale ladkhadaa ke
kadam dagmaga ke
nahin hosh hamko
kissi baat kaa aa
chale ladkhadaa ke

honthon ki laali
palkon ke saaye
honthon ki laali
palkon ke saaye
saagar mein tann mann
doobaa saa jaaye
baahon mein le lo haayye
zulfon se khelo
phir raat aisi
aaye naa aaye
naa aaye
naa aaye
pilaa(laughing sound) muskuraake
nighaahein milaake
nahin hosh hamko
kisi baat kaa
baat kaa
chale ladkhadaa ke

tere intezaar mein sapne dekhe hain kyaa kyaa
tere intezaar mein sapne dekhe hain kyaa kyaa
ho
dil-e-beqaraar mein
armaan machhle hain kyaa kyaa
o dilrubaa
aankhein milaa
aankhon se pee ee
thodi pilaa aa
thodi pilaa
pilaa
pilaa
tujhe aaj paa ke
hhhh
hh gale se lagaake
nahin hosh hamko
kissi baat kaa aa
chale ladkhadaa ke

chehraa gulaabi
aankhein gulaabi
chehraa gulaabi
aankhein gulaabi
tu bhi sharaabi
hum bhi sharaabi
itni piyen hum haayye
pyaass utni jaage haayye
hoke rahegi dil ki kharaabi
kharaabi
kharaabi
ye din hai khataa ke
khataa ke sazaa ke
nahin hosh hamko kissi baat kaa
chale ladkhadaa ke
kadam dagmaga ke
nahin hosh hamko kissi baat kaa
baat kaa
chale ladkhadaa ke
