“Ab Aayega Mazaa”(1984) was produced by Alok Nath and Girja Shankar and it was directed by Pankaj Parashar. The movie had Farooque Sheikh, Anita Raj, Girja Shankar,Raja Bundela, Rajesh Puri, Ravi Baswani, Himani Bhatt(aka Himani shivpuri), Vinita Malik, Pavan Malhotra, Shoma Anand, Satish Kaushik, S.M.Zaheer, Sudhir Kulkarni, Hanif Zahoor, Rajendra Chawla etc in it. In other words, this movie included the whose who of actors who were then making their marks on small screen as well as on the small budget movie scene.

The movie itself was the kind of comedy movie which even I could watch without feeling bored. The movie had just the kind of silly fun that I alongwith a few other regulars of this blog will enjoy immensely. It is the kind of movie that Memsaab would enjoy watching and reviewing in her blog. In fact I had suggested this movie to her for her review.

This is just the kind of movie that fun loving movie watchers would enjoy watching together in a movie hall, while munching popcorn. In these days of internet and facebook, one can even think of watching a movie like this simultaneously on YT while being located on different corners of the world while indulging in cyberwhistles and cybercatcalls. 🙂

Another regular who will definitely enjoy watching this movie is Raja. This movie had just the kind of muppetry (a term coined by us in the cricket forum where we are members) that we have been enjoying together from our cricket forum days.

One added bonus in this movie from Raja’s point of view is that this movie has a “Raja” song in it. To the uninitiated, a “Raja” song is a genre of song where the word “Raja” figures prominently in the lyrics. Some examples being , Nazar laagi raaja tore bangley par (Kaalaa Paani) , “Bhaiyya Raja bajaayega baja” (Sachcha Jhoota), O mere raja khafa na hona(Johny Mera Naam), More Raja ho le chal nadiya ke paar(Nadiya Ke Paar)(1948) , Raja ki aayegi baraat rangeeli hogi raat (Aah)(1953) , Raja jaani pyaare chor hamaare (Bhai Bhai), Aaja o mere raaja (Apna Desh) etc. 🙂

This “Raja” song of “Ab Aayega Mazaa” (1984) was with me for quite some time, but I was holding this song back for some special occasion. That special occasion has now arrived. Today (26 october 2013) is the birthday of Raja. So on this occasion, here is this delightful “Raja” song from “Ab Aayega Mazaa” (1984). I feel that this is quite an appropriate song for the occasion that our beloved Raja’s birthday represents.

This song is sung by Lata. Sameer is the lyricist. Music is composed by Anand Milind.

The song is lip synced by Anita Raj and her object of desire is played by Farooque Sheikh. The song is picturised in the National Rail Museum, New Delhi among antique railway rolling stock. One can also see Pawan Malhotra and Hanif Zahoor in the picturisation.

The lyrics of this delightful song were sent to me by Prakashchandra.

I take this opportunity to wish Raja a very happy birthday. Let there be as many happy returns of this day as there are “Raja” songs in Hindi movies. 🙂

Song-Raja tere raste se hat jaaungi (Ab Aayega Mazaa)(1984) Singer-Lata, Lyrics-Sameer, MD-Anand Milind

Lyrics (Provided by Prakashchandra)

raja tere raste se hatt jaaoongi
gaadi ke neeche jaake
jaake katt jaaoongi
raja tere raste se hatt jaaoongi
gaadi ke neeche jaake katt jaaoongi
jaaoongi toh phir
jaaoongi toh phir main naa aaoongi ee
gaadi ke neeche jaake katt jaaoongi ee
raja tere raste se hatt jaaoongi
gaadi ke neeche jaake katt jaaoongi

ho ho
ho o o o

meraa waadaa hai
haan ye waadaa hai
kaantaa bann ke na main tere dil mein chubhoongi
meraa waadaa hai
haan ye waadaa hai
kaantaa bann ke na main tere dil mein chubhoongi
dil na jalaaongi
main na sataaoongi
dil na jalaaoongi
main naa sataaoongi
phir na tumhaari gali aaoongi
gaadi ke neeche jaake katt jaaoongi

ho ho
ho ho

hatto jaane do
mujhe jaane do
iss duniyaa mein jeeke main kyaa karoongi
hatto jaane do
mujhe jaane do
iss duniyaa mein jeeke main kyaa karoongi
main mitt jaaoongi
main lut jaaoongi
main mitt jaaoongi
main lut jaaoongi
duniyaa se teri chali jaaoongi
gaadi ke neeche jaake katt jaaoongi ee
raja tere raste se hatt jaaoongi
gaadi ke neeche jaake katt jaaoongi

kahaan jaanaa thhaa
ye bahaanaa thhaa
jahaan jaayegaa tu
tere sang chaloongi
kahaan jaanaa thhaa
ye bahaanaa thhaa
jahaan jaayegaa tu tere sang chaloongi
sapne sajaaoongi
duniyaa basaaoongi
sapne sajaaoongi
duniyaa basaaoongi
door na tujhse kabhi jaaoongi
gaadi ke neeche jaake

raja main toh waapas palat aaoongi
baahon mein teri simat jaaoongi
ho o
baahon mein teri simat jaaoongi
haan
lalalalalalala

Atul, I don’t know what to say!
I am SO touched.
You know that I’m very rarely lost for words 🙂 but right now, I really am.
Very very humbled by this gesture on your part.

I haven’t been regular here at all of late – but you know how close this blog is to my heart. It is much more than just a blog, it is a place where so many of us have come together, got to share songs, our experiences, become good friends…

I will comment more later. Right now, I’m just SO touched, I’m lost for words. Doesn’t happen often to me, so I need to figure out a way to cope with this situation. 🙂

Thank you very very much. 🙂

Raja ji,

Greetings, and many happy returns of the day.
Each one bringing prosperity, good health and peace.
🙂 🙂

Best regards
Sudhir

Happy Birthday, Raja!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, RAJA JI.

Many Happy returns of the day to Raja ji.

The movie ‘Ab aayega Mazaa” brings memory of admission to college. Just days after SSC results, we went to the college early morning, completed the admission and while coming back my father dropped me and my sister at ‘Minerva’ to see the morning show of this movie. My sister had a great sense of occasion, she insisted on seeing a movie, as it was my birthday too.

Raja aa gaya maza. HBTY

Sorry to be the last to wish you Rajaji….
A very Belated Happy Birthday to you

i am back in atuldom after a gap of 3-4 days and look what i ve missed… and the best part is i was at a place where we have everything Bijli, paani, intrenet etc in abundance but time ki kami… just back after visiting my parents, relative & friends in Aamchi Mumbai
