Hullo everyone

Last year on the 7th of April I sent Atul the lyrics for a song from “Kinaara”. I think that song was “Meethe Bol Bole” by Bhupinder for Jeetendra. On that day it was late night by the time I sent it to Atul. This year I have gone one step further and am sending this song as a belated celebration of Jeetendra’s birthday. I went through yesterday’s post only today and saw no Jeetu song. So then I checked out Arunkumarji’s list of songs left out from each movie and found a Happy Go Lucky song from “Caravan”.

SHOKHIYAN (1951) was produced and directed by Kidar Sharma under the banner of Ambitious Pictures. The star cast included Premnath, Suraiya, Jeewan, Kamlesh Kumari, Nazira, Shanta Kanwar, Achala Sachdev, Ramesh Sinha etc. There were 8 songs in the film of which 6 were penned by Kidar Sharma and remaining two songs by his brother Himmat Rai Sharma. Kidar Sharma was impressed with Jamal Sen’s classical and Rajasthani folk tunes he demonstrated to him and thus got the music direction of the film.
