“Maryaada”(1971) was produced and directed by Arabind Sen for Lalit Kala Mandir. The movie had Raj Kumar, Rajesh Khanna, Mala Sinha, Helen, Rajinderanath, Pran, Bipin Gupta, Asit Sen, JankiDass, Abhi Bhattacharya,Dulari,Gurnam, Master Babla, Abhimanyu Sharma, Arun, K.Shukla, Lata Bose, Sanjana, Jankidass, Bunty etc in it.

I knew this movie for two of its two playful Kishore Kumar songs viz. Chupke se dil de de nahin te shor mach jaayegaa and Gussa itna haseen hai to pyaar kaisa hoga(Maryada)(1971) and a melancholic Mukesh song Jubaan pe dard bhari daastaan chali aayi(Maryada)(1971).

As many as five songs from this movie have been discussed in the past. Here is the sixth song from the movie. This song is sung by Rafi and Asha Bhonsle. It is picturised on Helen and a drunk Raj Kumar, with Pran also visible in this club dance song. Anand Bakshi is the lyricist. Music is composed by Kalyanji Anandji.

I had never heard this song during its time. In fact I was not aware that Raj Kumar was there in “Maryaada” (1971). I knew this movie as a Rajesh Khanna starrer. 🙂

Lyrics of this song were sent to me by Prakashchandra.

Song-Dil ka lena dene hamne chhoda…Nahin karte kisi se hum pyaar (Maryaada)(1971) Singers-Asha Bhonsle, Rafi, Lyrics-Anand Bakshi, MD-Kalyanji Anandji

Lyrics(Provided by Prakashchandra)

dil ka lenaa denaa hamne
dil ka lenaa denaa hamne
chhodaa
waadaa todaa hamne
sunn le sabhi dildaar
nahin karte kisi se hum pyaar
nahin karte kisi se hum pyaar

aa haa haa haa
hamse o haseenaa
yeh na kehnaa
bachke rehnaa hamse
dekhein jo hum ek baar
tumhein ho jaaye hamse pyaar
tumhein ho jaaye hamse pyaar

sharmeelee aankhonwaali
kyaa baat hai
bolo raat hai yaa din hai
ye raat hai
haan
sharmilee aankhonwaali

haan raat hai yeh kaali
aissi kaali raaton mein kahin bhool se
yoon hi baaton baaton mein kahin bhool se
tumse ho jaaye aankhein chaar
tumhein ho jaaye hamse pyaar
tumhein ho jaaye hamse pyaar

ohho
dil ka lenaa denaa hamne
chhodaa
waadaa todaa hamne
sunn le sabhi dildaar
nahin karte kisi se hum pyaar
nahin karte kisi se hum pyaar

tera dil hai kyaa deewaanaa
zuroor hai
na baad mein pachhtaanaa
manzoor hai
teraa dil hai kyaa deewaanaa
na baad mein pachhtaanaa
karnaa ho toh pyaar toh bataa dete hum
teer koyee aankhon se chalaa dete hum
jaao
chhod diyaa tumhein yaar
nahin karte kisi se hum pyaar
nahin karte kisi se hum pyaar

o aa haa haa
hamse o haseenaa
ye na kehnaa
bachke rehnaa hamse
dekhein jo hum ek baar
tumhein ho jaaye hamse pyaar
tumhein ho jaaye hamse pyaar

mere saamne toh aao
huhh
lo aa gaye
meri aankhon mein samaao
samaa gaye
ha ha
mere saamne toh aao
meri aankhon mein samaao
jaake ab dikhaao toh
maan jaayein hum
aankhein ab chhuraao toh
maan jaayein hum
dekhaa dekhaa ajee sarkaar
tumhein ho gayaa hamse pyaar

nahin karte kissi se hum pyaar
tumhein ho gayaa hamse
pyaar

Thanks for uploading this beautiful song which used to be my favourite in 1970s after release of the movie.I remember to have seen the movie one more time in theatre for this song only. Both Helen and Rajkumar are superb.
