“Police” (1958) was a Deep and Sandeep productions movie. It was directed by Kalidas. The movie had Pradeep Kumar, Madhubala, Raj Mehra, Dhumal, Om Prakash, Anwar, Nadira etc in it.

Three songs from this movie have been discussed in the past. Here is the fourth song from the movie. The song is mostly sung by Geeta Dutt with some humming by Hemant Kumar and some gibberish words by chorus. The song is picturised as a party song where everyone is wearing Phantom like mask. A royal lady, wearing a costly necklace is the centre of unwanted attention of all those baddies who invariably assemble on such occasions. They are ready with their elaborate plans of relieving her of her necklace. Quite a standard scene in Hindi spy movies of those days.

The song is lip synced by Nadira (in Geeta Dutt’s voice) and Pradeep Kumar (humming in Hemant Kumar’s voice). Majrooh Sultanpuri is the lyricist. Music is composed by Hemant Kumar.

I am unable to identify the actress playing the royal lady whose necklace gets stolen towards the end of the song as a baddy switches off the light of the hall (we knew it !) and when the light returns the necklace is gone with the lady shouting “mera necklace !”. Serves her right for flaunting it in public places. 🙂

Another actress must be NILOFAR(I have seen her in Guru Dutt`s Kagaz Ke Phool)

Sorry I have forgot to mention that the actress appearing in the video clip at 0:59 with Pradeep Kumar and Dhumal is Nilofar…..

Atulbhai,
The lines bellow the posting date need correction. It is mentioned as Asha Bhosle’s duet.

Actress, playing Royal Princess is not Nilofer, though she is in a couple of scenes of the song.

Sorry Aparna ji
nangoo koodaa yaavudo kannada haadu keldaa haagide, aadre yavudu antha mathraa gottangtaa illa, As I am more exposed to the kannada film music of 70`s era……….

But the chorus lines of this song, reminds me of Vyjayanthi/Agha song from 1957 Katputli
