“Jaalsaaz”(1959) was produced and directed by Arbind Sen for Lalit Kala Mandir, Bombay. the movie had Kishore Kumar and Mala Sinha in lead roles with Pran, Kamal Chaudhary, Nazeer Hussain, Achala Sachdev, Paro, Nana Palsikar, Krishnkant, Sabita Chatterji, Sailen Bose, Nirmal Kumar, Madhumati, Baby Rukhsana, Shyama, Asit Sen, Helen etc also figuring in it.

Seven songs from this movie have been discussed in the past. Here is the eighth and final song from this movie to appear in the blog.

This song is sung by Asha Bhonsle and chorus. Majrooh Sultanpuri is the lyricist. Music is composed by N Datta.

The song is picturised as a roadside tamasha song on a few young girls. Mala Sinha, watching this performance from a distance with a glum face too is shown imagining herself singing I am unable to identify them. I request our knowledgeable readers to help identify them.

Lyrics of this song were sent to me by Nitin Shah.

With this song, “Jaalsaaz”(1959) joins the list of movies that have all their songs covered in the blog.

dekhi teri duniya

wohi gir padey to chaley thhukraa ke
chaley thhukraa ke
chaley thhukra ke

koi sahaara maange to zaalim
chal de wahin se aankh bachaa ke

chaahe koi roye
chaahe koi gaaye
per na paseeje duniya ka dil
ho o
dekhi teri duniya
patthar ki raahen
patthar ke insaan
patthar ke dil

ho o
dekhi teri duniya
patthar ki raahen
patthar ke insaan
patthar ke dil
ho o
dekhi teri duniya

thokar se toden sheeshe dilon ke
aur itraatee phire chaal pe apni
chaal pe apni
chaal pe apni

aangan se leke baazaar tak ye
sabko nachaati phire taal pe apni
taal pe apni
chaahe koi roye
chaahe koi gaaye
per na paseeje duniya ka dil
ho o
dekhi teri duniya
patthar ki raahen
patthar ke insaan
patthar ke dil

ho o
dekhi teri duniya
patthar ki raahen
patthar ke insaan
patthar ke dil
ho o
dekhi teri duniya aa

insaaniyat kya
kaisi mohabbat
sabka ye zaalim tamaasha banaaye
tamaasha banaaye
tamaasha banaaye

ghoonghat ki qeemat
aanchal ka sauda
kare jo koi to wahin pe chukaaye
wahin pe chukaaye
chaahe koi roye
chaahe koi gaaye
per na paseeje duniya ka dil
ho o
dekhi teri duniya
patthar ki raahen
patthar ke insaan
patthar ke dil

ho o
dekhi teri duniya
patthar ki raahen
patthar ke insaan
patthar ke dil
ho o
dekhi teri duniya aa aa
