So 2015 comes to an end. We have had a very eventful year on the blog. Reached many milestones. Many artists reached centuries and some had their thousands and two thousands. Many contributors have posted multiple centuries. But Atulji still remains the man who is the whole and soul sutradhar of this wonderful place in CYBERLAND. If it was not for his encouragement we would all still be waiting for his time and our farmaishes to be fulfilled. If he had not allowed us- his blog followers -to write our thought with our favourite songs it would not have been possible to read gems from enlightened souls like Arunkumar Deshmukhji and Bharat Upadhyayji and Shenoyji and Sudhirji. I can think of our blog as a kind of workplace where each person specializes in a particular field.  Long live such a well oiled machinery!!!! Also in the month of November we had our annual panchis (birds) returning home and a few of us got together in Bangalore (of course we are waiting for the Ankhon Dekha Haal from our able commentator Rajaji).

Since the last few days I have been getting messages of Happy New Year. Things which say “Wishing you all in advance a great beginning to TWENTY SIXTEEN—- Feel Sixteen and Look Twenty” (for example). I have been dutifully reading all the messages and passing the ones which I appreciated in one group to another group where it will be appreciated too. There are some messages like the one that I have highlighted here which and a lot of funny responses to it which brought a smile on the face. Then there was another message “I would like to apologise to anyone I have not yet offended. Please be patient your turn will come too” even this was decently amusing but in hindsight I think it is not a good idea to offend anyone as we don’t know what life has in store for us. And we should live each moment in such a way that we don’t repent it later. As I was thinking these thoughts Vividh Bharti played a lovely song this morning. Immediately I thought it will be a good song to bid 2015 GOODBYE!!

Over the years we have had many songs in bollywood which say “kal kya hoga kisko pata” or “Aaj Abhi Yahin”, which basically mean that live for today tomorrow is just a promise or hope. Then there are songs which have said “don’t look back as you are not alone you have a whole lot of people to support you”—- I know readers have understood which song I had in mind when I wrote the last philosophical thought.

Now the song which I heard this morning also asks us not to look back and take a step forward. The song was written by Anand Bakshi and Kalyanji Anandji were the music director duo. Kishore Kumar was the voice for Amitabh Bachchan. This song is used in the movie to introduce the character played by Big B. It has the typical element of a kid jumping on to a moving train from a bridge above and turning into a grown up when he straightens up. And he bursts into this song holding on to the railings of the moving train and I have always wondered since 1983 (when I saw the movie) HOW DOES HE DO THAT!!!??? Then he is shown using all possible modes of transport – bicycle, motorbike, tonga and even rides the roof of a yellow-black taxi across Mumbai (Bombay back then)

So without looking back let us also put our foot forward into 2016. Advance wishes to all in Atuldom for a Happy 2016 🙂

aaj ka ye din
kal ban jayega kal
peechhe
mudke na dekh
pyaare aage chal
tu peechhe mudke na dekh
pyaare age chal
aaj ka ye din
kal ban jayega kal
peechhe
mudke na dekh
pyaare aage chal
peechhe mudke na dekh
pyaare aage chal

haye
jaanewale pe na aitbaar kar
aanewale ka tu intezaar kar
jaanewale pe na aitbaar kar
aanewale ka tu intezaar kar
beete dino ki yaadon me na jal
beete dino ki yaadon me na jal,
ae babu aage chal
aaj ka ye din
kal ban jayega kal
peechhe
mudke na dekh
pyaare aage chal
arey, peechhe mudke na dekh
pyaare age chal

ye shiqve baharon ke fazool hai
phoolonn me kante
kanton me phool hai
ye shikve baharo ke fazool hai
phoolon me kante
kanton me phool hai
badla hai mausam to bhi to badal
badla hai mausam to bhi to badal
sheru aage chal
aaj ka ye din
kal ban jayega kal
peechhe
mudke na dekh
pyaare aage chal
arey, peechhe mudke na dekh
pyaare aage chal

aey bhai
tera dhyan kidhar hai

ek jagah jo baitha rah jayega
raste ka woh pathar ban jayega
ek jagah jo baitha rah jayega
raste ka woh pathar ban jayega
lehra ke ban ja aawara badal
tu lehra ke ban ja aawara badal
pyaare aage chal, chal
aaj ka ye din
kal ban jayega kal
peechhe
mudke na dekh
pyaare aage chal
aaj ka ye din
kal ban jayega kal
tu peechhe mudke na dekh
pyaare aage chal
la la la la la
peechhe mudke na dekh
pyaare aage chal
la la la la la
arey peechhe mudke na dekh
pyaare aage chal
la la la la la
peechhe mudke na dekh
pyaare aage chal
la la la la la la
