“Shatranj”(1969) was produced and directed by S S Vasan under the banners of Gemini Pictures and N N Sippy Productions. The movie had Rajendra Kumar, Waheeda Rehman, Shashikala, Madan Puri, Mehmood, Helen, Agha, Manmohan Krishna, Rajan Haksar, Achala Sachdev, Shammi etc.
Today (3 february 2016) is the 78th birth anniversary of Waheeda Rehman. How time has flown ! We wish her a very happy birth anniversary and many happy returns of the day.
Here is a song from “Shatranj”(1969) on this occasion. This song is sung by Lata. Hasrat Jaipuri is the lyricist. Music is composed by Shankar Jaikishan.
The song is picturised on Waheeda Rehman and several other female dancers all sporting mor-pankh on their rears. I request our knowledgeable readers to help identify the other dancers.
