Today is the 5th remembrance day of Rajesh Khanna – the first and only Superstar of Hindi cinema. Today I present on our blog, another lovely nice – hummable song from the movie ‘Bundalbaaz’, sung by Kishore Kumar and Lata Mangeshkar.

We already have two beautiful songs posted today on our blog, which are wonderful tributes to ‘Kaka’. So I will not write more about him or his filmography in my write up.

‘Bundlebaaz’ (1976) (or ‘Bandalbaaz’ as mentioned in HFGK) was directed by Shammi Kapoor. It was produced by Pushpa Pictures Pvt Ltd and was a ‘fantasy’ movie. This movie was passed by Censor Board on 04.12.1976 and as we all aware was not a ‘successful movie’ in same league of the earlier Rajesh Khanna movies that were hits or super hits.

The star cast includes Shammi Kapoor, Rajesh Khanna, Sulakshana Pandit, Johny Walker, Asrani, Ranjeet, Farida Jalal, Dev Kumar, Pinchoo Kapoor, Kamal Kapur, Mukri, Lalita Pawar, Mushtaq, Tuntun, Abhimanyu Sharma, Han Gama, Moolchand, Viju Khote, Zery, Bihari, V. Gopal, Haroon and others.

This movie had total four songs written by Majrooh Sultanpuri and composed by RD Burman. Asha Bhonsle, Kishore Kumar, Mohd Rafi and Lata Mangeshkar gave their voices to the songs of this movie. There is one solo song of Kishore Kumar, One duet each of Asha-Kishore and Lata-Kishore and one beautiful duet of Rafi-Lata (already on the blog).

The songs is picturised on Rajesh Khanna and Sulakshana Pandit while Shammi Kapoor – who acts as Genie is also prsent, taking them flying over places. As mentioned above this song is written by Majrooh Sultanpuri and composed by RD Burman. And which was forgotten, like the other songs of this movie, as the movie itself failed and was forgotten.

I had not watched this movie, but one of its song ‘Naghma Hamaara’ has remained in my memory and the same has been shared and posted earlier on the blog on 18.09.2012 (almost five years ago 🙂 ).

Let us now enjoy the today’s song and get ‘nostalgic’ about the years of ‘Rajesh Khanna’ on Indian Screen!!

Song – Bemausam Bahaar Ke Din Kaise Aaye (Bundalbaaz) (1976) Singer – Kishore Kumar, Lata Mangeshkar, Shammi Kapoor, Lyrics – Majrooh Sultanpuri, MD – RD Burman
Kishore Kumar + Lata Mangeshkar

Lyrics

hmm hmm
bemausam bahaar ke
din kaise aaye
bemausam bahaar ke
din kaise aaye
in baahon mein pyaar se
tum jaise aaye
chalo re nikal jaayen kahin
nikal ke machal jaayen kahin re
bemausam bahaar ke
din kaise aaye
in baahon mein pyaar se
tum jaise aaye

ye teri do aankhen
jin mein mera pyaar
mil jaayen to lehron ko bhi
aa jaaye qaraar
ye teri do aankhen
jin mein mera pyaar
mil jaayen to lehron ko bhi
aa jaaye qaraar
to aaja ke mil jaayen galey
khule aasmanon ke taley re
bemausam bahaar ke
din kaise aaye
in baahon mein pyaar se
tum jaise aaye

jab se tu hai dilbar
mujh pe meharbaan
tere dam se jannat hain
mere dono jahaan
jab se tu hai dilbar
mujh pe meharbaan
tere dam se jannat hain
mere dono jahaan
jahaan bhi gaye ham
ae sanam
bahaaron ne choome hain kadam
haay
hmm hmm
bemausam bahaar ke
din kaise aaye
in baahon mein pyaar se
tum jaise aaye

o ho ho. . .
o ho ho. . .

o ho ho. . .

rangeen tera chehra
aisa saathia
barfeele toofan mein jaise
phoolon ka diyaa
rangeen tera chehra
aisaa saathia
barfeele toofan mein jaise
phoolon ka diyaa
to aa ja behak jaayein zaraa aa aa
nashe mein mehak jaayein zaraa re
bemausam bahaar ke
din kaise aaye
in baahon mein pyaar se
tum jaise aaye
chalo re nikal jaayen kahin
nikal ke machal jaayen kahin

hmm hmm hmm
hmm hmm hmm
o o o
hmm hmm hmm
hmm hmm hmm

ho ho ho
oo ho ha

Avinashji, thank you for this – I had forgotten about this song. It’s a pleasant song, if not all that well-known.

I happened to see this film only a few years ago – with some amount of trepidation. Turned out to be unfounded – it is a fun film, with lot of craziness. Not surprised that it bombed at the box-office though at that time. By that time, Rajesh’s movies were bombing one after the other – this was one in that series.
