Blog 10-Year Challenge (2013-2023) – Song No. 9
————————————————————————————–

On this date ten years back viz on 23 January 2013, six songs from six movies were covered in the blog. Here are the details:-

Blog post number Song Movie (Year) Remarks
7389 Main hoon Alladin mere paas chiraag e cheen Sargam (1950) Movie YIPPEED in the blog by now
7390 Patey ki baat kahega kahega jab bhi deewaana Deewaana(1967) Movie YIPPEED by now
7391 Baithe baithe dil e naadaan ye khayaal aaya hai Maikhaana (1967) 3 songs covered out of 7 by now
7392 Haan jee haan maine sharaab pi hai Seeta Aur Geeta (1972) Movie YIPPEED by now
7393 Saanjh dhaley gagan taley Utsav(1984) 2 songs covered by now out of 4
7394 Mujhe yaad aati hai Bose- The forgotten hero(2004) 4 songs covered out of 7 by now

We observe that three movies (out of six movies) whose songs were represented in the blog on this date ten years ago (viz on 23 January 2013) have since been YIPPEED in the blog. That leaves us with three unYIPPEED movies that are eligible for Blog Ten Year Challenge today(23 January 2023).

Chronologically the oldest of the three unYIPPEED movies is “Maikhaana”(1967).

“Maikhaana”(1967) was produced and directed by Kidar Sharma for Show People, Bombay. The movie had Bambi, Zeb Rehman, Sailesh Kumar, Madhuraj, R.Sheila, Johnny Whiskey etc in it.

The movie had seven songs in it. Three songs have been covered so far.

Here is the fourth song from “Maikhaana”(1967) to appear in the blog. The song is sung by Asha Bhonsle and Usha Mangeshkar. Kidar Sharma is the lyricist. Music is composed by Bhushan.

Only audio of the song is avilable. One can guess that it is picturised as a synchronised dance songs on two female dancers. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on the picturisation of this song.

Lyrics of this song were sent to me by Prakashchandra.
