“Samay Bada Balwaan-1969” was directed by Sohrab Modi for ‘Minerva, Bombay’.

It had Sohrab Modi, Mehtab, Shailesh Kumar, Shahida, Aruna Irani, David, Manto and others. It was a social drama film.

Here is a brief about this movie mentioned by Shri Arunkumar ji in his comment on this song ‘bhooley afsaane phir se yaad aaye’, which was presented by Shri Sudhir ji on the blog.

SAMAY BADA BALWAN-1969 was a film from a Balwan film co. and a Balwan Producer/Director. The message of the film was ‘Time is a great Healer. Time is a great leveller’.
Uttam (Sohrab Modi) and Damayanti (Mehtab) is a rich and happy couple with everything in their favour, but suddenly a raging fire destroys everything that this rich cotton growing merchant had and they beco0me poor in their big Haveli.
Uttam’s younger brother Ram (Sailesh Kr.) is engaged to Gauri (Shahida) the elder daughter of Seth Dhunichand (Wasti), who breaks the engagement.
His brother-in-law (Damayanti’s brother) Dwarakadas (K.N.Singh) leaves his partnership, and joins his rival. His son Baloo (Pravin) is engaged to Dhunichand’s second daughter.
On the insistence of his wife, Uttam goes for the engagement program, but there he is accused of theft of 5000 rupees and beaten by Dwaraka’s goons, when he is on his way home etc etc.
Within few years, Uttam and his son build their empire again, but Dwaraka and Dhunichand become poor, thus establishing that Time teaches to value every relationship irrespective of money..blah…blah…blah.
Despite being a Sohrab Modi film, somehow the public could not digest the overdose of Updesh of Morality much and the film went to its rest-house very soon.

“Samay Bada Balwaan-1969” had eight songs in it. Lyrics for all the eight songs were written by Dina Nath Madhok and music was composed by Usha Khanna.

I am giving below the list of songs contained in this movie:-

HFGK Vol-IV (1961-1970) mentions Mohd Rafi, Asha Bhonsle, Hemlata, Krishna Kalle and Usha Khanna as playback singers for this movie.

This movie seems to be an obscure movie as none of its videos are available on internet as of now.

So far, two songs from this movie have been posted on the blog in the year 2011.

Today we are going to listen to the third song from this movie which is sung by Asha Bhonsle. Lyrics are by D.N. Madhok and music is composed by Usha Khanna.

Only the audio of this song is available.

Over to the song now…

Song-Roothh kar tum bhala yoon kahaan jaaoge (Samay Bada Balwaan)(1969) Singer-Asha Bhonsle, Lyrics-D N Madhok, MD-Usha Khanna

Lyrics

Roothh kar tum bhalaa
yoon kahaan jaaoge
roothh kar tum bhalaa
yoon kahaan jaaoge
yaad tadpaayegi ee ee
tum chaley aaoge ae ae
roothh kar tum bhalaa
yoon kahaan jaaoge

ban ke dhadkan main
dil mein utar jaaungi ee ee
aap tadpoongi aur
tumko tadpaaoongi
shaam ho
ya sahar
tum naa kal paaoge ae
yaad tadpaayegi ee ee
tum chaley aaoge ae ae
roothh kar tum bhalaa
yoon kahaan jaaoge

chhod kar is tarah
mujhko jaaoge tum mm…
yaad rakhnaa bahot
dukh uthhaaoge tum
main nahin hoon jise
tum bhulaa paaoge ae
yaad tadpaayegi ee ee
tum chaley aaoge ae ae
roothh kar tum bhalaa
yoon kahaan jaaoge
