“Meri Jung”(1985) was produced by N N Sippy and directed by Subhash Ghai for N N Sippy productions, Bombay. The movie had Anil Kapoor, Meenakshi Seshadri, Khushboo, Nutan, Javed Jaffrey (debut), Girish Karnad, Amrish Puri, Parikshat Sahni, A K Hangal, Sudhir, Beena, Huma Khan, Iftekhar, Kamal Kapoor, Viju Khote, Rajan Haksar, Pradeep Rawat etc in it.

Here is the seventh and final song from “Meri Jung”(1985) to appear in the blog. This song is mainly a chorus song, but the credit for singing it is given to Subhash Ghai and Laxmikant. Anand Bakshi is the lyricist. Music is composed by Laxmikant Pyarelal.
The song is picturised as a get together song in villain’s den where people are in masks, though intelligent audience can identify them despite their masks. 🙂 Most important characters, be they good characters or bad are invariably found in such villain’s den song and this song is no exception. 🙂
Laxmikant gives playback for Amrish Puri. I am not sure who Subhash Ghai gives playback to. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on this matter.

Atul’s Song A Day- A choice collection of Hindi Film & Non-Film Songs

Hullo Atulji
This is coincidence, I had thought of this song for yesterday to Wish Meenakshi on her birthday but then gave it a Go-Bye and sent the song of Allahrakha
In ‘Jhoom le’ we have Parikshat Sahni & Meenakshi giving company to Anil Kapoor (all of them in masks)
The opening lines of the song in Subhash Ghai’s (or is it Laxmikant’s) voice are mouthed by the character Teddy who is Kamal Kapoor’s son in the film. I think he is Prakash Talreja who appeared in similar roles in a few films.
The situation of the song in the film is a New Year’s party in a Hotel run by Kamal Kapoor where Amrish Puri has held Nutan captive. The purpose of the song for Anil Kapoor, Meenakshi & Parikshat Sahni is to find & rescue Nutan
At various places Anil Kapoor has thanked Amitabh Bachchan for leaving this film to make a place in politics. Originally, Ramesh Sippy was going to make the film as ‘Shatranj’ in which Anil Kapoor was signed on for Javed Jaffery’s role. In the changed setup, when Anil got Arun Verma’s character which was his first serious role.
