Today’s Kavi Pradeep song is from the movie ‘Dashehraa-1956’.
‘Dashehraa-1956’ was directed by Chaturbhuj Doshi for ‘Navkala Niketan, Bombay’. Ramesh Vyas was the producer of this movie. This movie was passed by the censor board on 25.02.1956. The cast of this movie included Shahu Modak, Nirupa Roy, Roop Kumar, Gope, Gajanan Jagirdar, S.N. Tripathi, Surendra, Yashodhara Katju, Kumkum, Jagdish Kanwal, Kamal, Heera Sawant, Rooplakshami, Suryakant, Narbada Shankar, Mohan Choti, Madhav Kale, Bela Sorkar, Jaya Rao, Tiwari and others. Rajan Haksar, Manorama, and Ramesh Thakur had a guest appearance in this movie.
“Dashehraa” had eleven songs in it that were written by Kavi Pradeep (ten songs) and Saraswati Kumar Deepak (one song). Music for this mythological/devotional movie was composed by N. Datta. The playback singers for this movie were Mohd Rafi, Lata Mangeshkar, Kavi Pradeep, Shamshad Begam and Asha Bhonsle. Lata Mangeshkar, Kavi Pradeep, and Shamshad Begam had one solo song each in this movie. Mohd Rafi’s voice was used in three songs and Asha Bhonsle sang five solo songs in this movie (one of them being a multiple version song).
