Kamsune/Unsune songs of Asha Bhosle – 112

“Saaghar Labon Se Laga Le” is again a very rare song by Asha Bhosle from the film “Ek Bechara” (1972). The song is penned by Anand Bakshi and composed by Laxmikant Pyarelal.

“Ek Bechaara” (1972) was produced by B N Ghosh and directed by S M Abbas. the movie had Jeetendra, Rekha, Pran, Kalpana, Vinod Khanna, Johnny Walker, Bindu, Salomi, Anwar Hussain etc in it.

The film revolves around a simple-hearted villager whose honesty and devotion are tested by betrayal and conspiracy.

The story begins with Rajan, an innocent and uneducated young man from a village. Before dying, his father sends him to the city to seek help from Rai Bahadur Mohan, a wealthy man who had once known the family. After arriving in the city, Rajan is eventually welcomed into Mohan’s household. Mohan’s daughter Kavita, however, looks down upon the rustic newcomer and treats him with contempt.

Kavita is engaged to Shekhar, but on the wedding day Shekhar’s family demands that Mohan transfer all his property to them as a condition for the marriage. Mohan refuses the humiliating demand, causing the wedding to collapse. To save his daughter’s honour, Mohan asks Rajan to marry Kavita. Though unwilling at first, she agrees out of respect for her father’s wishes.

After the marriage, Kavita refuses to accept Rajan as her husband and continues to maintain contact with Shekhar. She even secretly accompanies Shekhar on a trip, believing he still loves her. However, Shekhar reveals his true character and attempts to take advantage of her. Rajan unexpectedly comes to her rescue, and Kavita gradually begins to realise his goodness and sincerity. This incident marks the beginning of a change in her attitude toward him.

Just when their relationship starts improving, a new crisis emerges. A woman suddenly appears claiming to be Rajan’s wife, accompanied by others who support her story. Mohan and the family believe Rajan has deceived them. Despite his protests of innocence, he is thrown out of the house and disgraced.

The truth is that the entire scheme has been engineered by Shekhar and his associates as part of a plot to gain control of Mohan’s wealth. When Mohan begins to suspect foul play, attempts are made on his life. Rajan, aided by Mohan’s loyal secretary Gullu, investigates the conspiracy and discovers that the supposed wife was forced into the deception.

The climax features kidnappings, fights and dramatic revelations. Mohan survives an attack and secretly helps Rajan expose the criminals. Together they rescue Kavita from Shekhar’s gang. The police arrive, Shekhar is arrested, and Rajan’s innocence is finally proven. Kavita fully accepts Rajan as her husband, and the story ends with justice restored and the couple united.

Three out of five songs are posted in this blog. Here’s the fourth song.

The song is a club dance lip synced and performed by Bindu. We can see Anwar Hussain too, during the song. Also, there’s a fight going on between Shatrughna Sinha and some others, partly during the song.
